I try to limit my questions to him, don't want to bug him too much. I think it helps my chances of him responding to other things I might ask later. he's answered most of my questions so far, but I'd hate to get into annoying fan territory. heh
Feel free to give it a go yourselves though, those of you with twitter accounts.

I know I'm being picky, it just struck me as I haven't noticed banding before on Pixar blus and it surprised me as it's a new release with more gig space devoted to it.
To be honest, I wasn't as blown away with the transfer as a whole - it just doesn't look as detailed/sharp overall as I expected, but then again I suppose they wanted it to look authentic compared to 1 and 2.
I see some slight banding in the closing dissolve, but no such thing during Jessie's sonic boom (which is what I assume you meant by explosion).
But the transfer is top notch. And its ridiculous to think they'd downgrade the picture quality to match the last two. For one, the first two are nearly perfect as well. I only say nearly because I did notice some banding in the sky when Buzz lands on that planet in the opening. but aside from that I saw no flaws. If there's any time the picture isn't sharp its because of focal blur, which is of course completely intentional.

actually its at least a second, if not a bit more.
Edit: Ok just for kicks I ran it through my video editor and can give you the exact time its on screen. Its 00:00:01;26. Doesn't sound like much, but In animation terms that's actually quite a bit. Roughly 45 frames.
