Disney Blu-rays re-issued/OOP?

Post by abenotgabe »

I was at BestBuy last night and noticed that several Blu-rays have been re-issued:
Bolt 3-Disc Combo Pack (Replaced by BD + DVD only)
A Bug's Life BD + Digital Copy (Replaced by BD + DVD) (not the DMC version)
Monsters, Inc. 4 Disc Combo Pack (Replaced by BD + DVD only)
G-Force 3-Disc Combo Pack (Replaced by BD+DVD Only)

I have to say I'm really surprised Disney did this because I always thought the "Limited Time Combo Pack" stickers stamped on each release were unnecesarily exaggerated and persuasive. I also noticed that Tinker Bell is now BD+DVD Combo with a Slipcover. I'm hoping that they do this with other films like Meet The Robinsons and Ratatoullie.

Thank god. Now I can buy them without having the useless-to-me Digital Copy Disc.

My brother will be glad the first Tinker Bell is now a combo set. He wants them all uniform, and since he only got the first on DVD, it stands out on the shelf with the other two. And I too hope they re-package BD-only sets you mentioned as BD+DVD Combos. Then I can sell my standalone DVDs for those and not lose a thing.

How are the prices on these? The only one of these I'd be interested in is Bolt as I have the rest on BD already. Now if they do this with 'Up' I'll be a very happy camper.

Glad I'm not the only one

It's just, once you've used the disc and throw it out, you have a case with an empty disc holder and box art advertising something that's no longer there. Not good when you go to sell it in anticipation of a re-release.

Also, I see they've re-released The Nightmare Before Christmas with a DVD copy. Now I can sell my unopened Blu-Ray copy I got free with my Panasonic player and buy this new one.

Excellent! I was hesitating on getting Meet the Robinsons and Enchanted as I could only get them as Blu-ray or DVD releases. Now that they're coming out as combo packs I can have the best of both worlds! :P

I'm super excited about Meet the Robinsons. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a slipcover.

I wonder if there is any chance of Ratatouille getting a combo release?

I'll def get Dinosaur, Bolt, Meet the Robinsons and Enchanted. Still can't bring myself to accept Chicken Little as a disney classic though.

I saw Chicken Little once and I don't think I'll ever buy it on any form of media, lol. No offense to anyone who likes it, just not on my list!

I wonder why Finding Nemo and Ratatouille are not listed among this "next wave" of Blu-ray/DVD combo releases? Besides Meet the Robinsons and Enchanted, those 2 would probably be next on my list!

Finding Nemo is scheduled for Blu Ray release next year so I expect it will be a combo pack.

I fear Best Buy is the only store selling the reissued BD+DVD combo packs. I tried checking Target for A Bug's Life but they only have the old BluRays with the Digital Copy.

I didn't know that, I had thought The Incredibles was coming sooner...I didn't hear about Finding Nemo on blu ray...if they are both then that will be sweet

Also There is blu ray combo pack of A Bug's Life but it's only through the Disney Movie Club
