I always cringe when I hear that expression tossed around, because it's not true. Soldiers aren't risking their lives or even dying for you and me. They're risking their lives or are dying for the strategic and political interests of the countries they serve, and for the profits of multibillion dollar corporations who want to get their hands on the invaded country's natural resources. American soldiers are dying for Halliburton and their stock holders (like Dick Cheney), not for you and me.
