I love it... I would love to hear some of what all the Glenn Slater haters think. I wasn't familiar with anything he's done until this, so I didn't have any biases towards him. I think the lyrics are very typical Disney... but not in a bad way.

The song, "I See the Light," is very impressive, and Mandy Moore and Zachary Levi did an excellent job on their great performance. I bet this song could earn either a Grammy award, or an Academy award for best song. That depends when the awards is coming soon. My compliments to Alan Menken: You have done it again!

Thanks so much! It's a nice song, the voices and lyrics are good. :)

The part I'm most disappointed with the song is the music, I guess I wish that it had more depth? Songs of Alan Menken's used to be just as pretty to listen to instrumental, but better than I thought it would sound. But three cheers for Zachary Levi! His singing voice doesn't annoy me! (Unlike his Flynn talking voice).

P.S Phan258 Could you tell me if they're actually singing or if they're singin in their heads?

Yes. Rapunzel's individual part--voiceover/in her head, Flynn's individual part--voiceover/in his head, Duet: Real-time (as they hold hands)

There's a really pretty part in particular during this scene where they both release a lantern at the same time, and the camera follows them into the air as they float & swirl around eachother, as though they were dancing....

This song has renewed my spirit for the film & I am now, sold. If the film holds something so precious as this, why does the marketing team insist on selling it as a different film altogether? Don't sell me the boy market argument, Disney. The poster has a girl in a purple dress, holding her hair. Give up the boy market & go forth with selling the story already!

What a wonderfully elegant & magical song...I can't stop listening to it. :-)

Animalia Alan said from the beginning that the songs from "Tangled" were gonna be more stripped down and acoustic singer songwriter sounding, and I think this follows that theme.

And though you might miss some of the lush sounds from BatB or HoND, each movie had songs and sounds that fit a theme or meshed with the picture, and it seems "Tangled"s theme is much more personal and simple

But anyways, I love this song! I started tearing just seconds into the song!

I think it's the best love song Disney has ever produced. I know people might say that's a big statement to say but I truly feel that. It doesn't call attention to itself or as grand and big as "A Whole New World" or "Beauty and the Beast" or as mushy and romantic as "Once Upon a Dream" or "So This is Love". It sounds so organic, It's just simple, personal and emotional and gets into more about how the characters feel about how they have changed, then how they feel about each other, which I find very refreshing. Also, Mandy and Zac both have great voices that suit the characters perfectly!

Ugh! I am just so friggen excited for this movie!
