It makes sense to give it a Warner Archive Collection release rather than in stores. That way, people who are actively looking for it will find it. You know, instead of a parent looking for a new babysitter, picking this up, seeing the word "Censored" and immediately writing a strongly-worded letter to Warner Bros. and warning various watchdog groups to boycott the release...all without bothering to actually learn about the shorts, the context they were made, who it's mean to "appeal" to now, etc.
On the flipside, releasing it via Warner Archive Collection means no bonus features. :\

I actually agree. This is VERY exciting news! It looks like all the Looney Tunes will be on DVD after all!

*sigh* Does Warner Archive take PayPal? Also, this is the place where they burn it and send it to you, right? Not just where you download and have to burn it yourself? Something wrong with our DVD burner. It only burns programs less than an hour in length, even though I use 2 hour discs...
They missed one!!! I have the Looney Tunes on Laser Disc and there is one that they didn't list - It is a Bugs Bunny cartoon called "Bugs Nips the Nips" and the only way that I have ever found this uncensored classic is on the Looney Tunes Laser collection.
The only way to watch movies - Original Aspect Ratio!!!!
I LOVE my Blu-Ray Disc Player!

Well, that cartoon is not part of the Censored 11. Here's info on the Censored 11 for those who are interested:
Even though they are not releasing it in stores, this is a complete surprise. Let's just hope they releaed them uncensored. I will order it for sure when it comes out.

I don't know if they take Pay Pal (have not bought from them, yet) but they are the ones that burn it and send it to you. I think some titles they let you download as well, but most of them they send to you.

"UPDATE (10/13): The New York Post reports that they have also seen the ToonZone.net information we described above. And when they asked Warner Home Video for comment about it, the studio replied that there are "no firm plans" at this time. It wasn't an out-and-out denial either, however. Extrapolating a bit on the Post's write-up, the indication was that neither a timeframe (not even a release year, for example) nor method of delivery have been decided upon yet. As an example, if such a release comes out it might arrive in 2012 rather than 2011; and it might come out through traditional retail channels rather than via Warner's MOD program.
Nor would we think, potentially, is the theoretical content of such an (unannounced) release necessarily limited to the above-named 11 shorts, as other shorts also became restricted later on (such as 1944's Bugs Bunny Nips the Nips by Friz Freleng, for example), and Warner might like to include those on such a title as well. The bottom line is that things might be a bit more serious about such a release than they have been in the past, but it's still not "just around the corner" quite yet. Stay tuned and we'll keep you informed!"

You beat me to posting this, but I'm still excited about this. I think it is going to happen, and maybe even not as a DVD on demand title, which is awesome!

I think for an extra bonus we should call WB and say how we would buy this in an instant and hope to purchase from the warner archives online or even more if it was in a store like Best Buy...since they are thinking about it let's remind them that there are so many people are wanting and willing to buy this product....just help milk it along and in which should proccess in their minds via Lickboot's phrase
Well that's good news. I'd rather it be an actual pressed disc with additional shorts and extras rather than something relegated to the Warner Archive Collection.

I'd like to see s complete collection; with the 11, plus other stuff like Bugs Nips the Nips, etc.
I can't recall right now, are the Prvate Snafu shorts already out? Those were aimed at adult GIs, instead of all ages in general theaters. One of them had reference to a "Booby Trap" that was down the front of a woman's dress...

They released a few of them on the Golden Collection DVDs. There are also a couple of dvds with nothing but Private Snafu cartoons (The Complete Uncensored Private Snafu).

Not to mention a new release coming from Thunderbean featuring new transfers! Again, I do agree, additional bonus WB cartoons that are offensive (Bugs Bunny Nips The Nips, Tokio Jokio) would be perfect for the Censored 11 set which I hope to see next year.
"HERE'S THE BIG NEWS! Jerry said that the "Censored 11" is planned for DVD, most definitely, and with a GENERAL traditional retail release (not via the Warner Archives; see our Oct. 12th report, and the next-day-update at the bottom of it, for more on that); it will have other rare cartoons besides the "11", all restored, plus some bonus materials; it will be "high-class" release!"
