Elton John & Lady Gaga Collaborate On Song For 'Gnomeo &
"Elton John and Lady Gaga have already united on stage, but now word is out that the two have recorded a song together - for the mouse house.
Entertainment Weekly's Dave Karger reported that Gaga and the piano prince recorded the track "Hello, Hello," which is set to be a part of "Gnomeo & Juliet," an animated film from Disney, which is due out on February 11, 2010.
The song, described as a "charming pop track," by Karger, reportedly plays when the two lead characters in the film - garden gnomes Gnomeo and Juliet - meet.
Gnomeo is voiced by Scotsman James McAvoy, while Juliet is given a voice by English actress Emily Blunt.
The story follows the two smitten garden gnomes whose romance is put to the test as they become caught up in a fracas between neighbors."

I love them both, but am I the only one who thinks their voices probably won't go well together?
Probably won't matter though. Besides, I'm not sure if I'll even get to see Gnomeo and Juliet (it's not on my high list of priorities anyway).

Listening to most often lately:

Taylor Swift ~ "Eldest Daughter"
Taylor Swift ~ "CANCELLED!"

I tend to agree...sunhuntin wrote:i like them both as singers and performers, but i cant picture them teamed up. i can see them having a "costume war" to see who can come up with the craziest. lol.

I see a lot of sour grapes from some sore folk who just can't accept that Lady Gaga is here to stay. And why should pop have any unconventional stars?
Anyway... great as I think she is, I'm not sure after the dual-controversies on "Telephone" and "Alejandro" that she'd be so great with a children's film. Especially since neither of those disasters were worth the backlash. No class. I want to see her get more adult and instead, she seems to be going in the opposite direction.

My main issue with Lady Gaga isn't so much that her songs are irritating (and I have a major hatred for Pokerface, especially). But, I've seen videos of her prior to her bizarre transformation and she seems like a relatively normal and talented young lady. Now, she's practically an embarrassment in an industry that's already slowly going down the toilet.
Say what you will about Justin Bieber (who I'm also not a fan of), but at least, he doesn't look like he's putting on a ridiculous and staged act just for the sake of attention.

This is rather shocking, but lets be reasonable. She's just going to write a song for Gnomeo and Juliet. She's not going to make it a personal hit.For goodness sakes ,she has her own work to do.And she's not going to make it like her previous hits. For all you know, the song might end up sounding more like Elton John.

I'm not all too negative about this film, but I'm glad it's getting released under the Touchstone banner, just so as to differentiate it from Disney product (remember the controversy surrounding The Wild being called a classic by BVHE UK, for example?). Touchstone or Disney, I think that the viciousness against it seems a bit unfair. Sure, I don't think that it was viewed as a potential masterpiece to sit firmly alongside Pinocchio or Fantasia at any given point in its production (remember when it was going to be made by Disney Feature Animation?

And as much as it's probably only being done to get people to come and watch it, I have no problem with Lady Gaga doing a song on this film (though I wouldn't buy one of her albums, I'm warming to her a bit more, especially the stuff from the past eleven or twelve months).

I loved the act of Bruce Willis with his meat hat on a show, forgot which show it was! Where he put some salt and pepper on his hat and the interviewer ate his meat. Loved it

At least someone made fun of that miss completely GaGa...
I mean come on: I thought I saw everything over the years when it came to attention in the media. But that woman is a FREAK!
And I don't even like her songs either ( Pokerface was "sorta" ok but everything else was horrible from my point of view)

I agree. Also, I find it funny that people have such animosity towards this trailer, but they look at the Tangled trailer and say "Oh, that's just Disney mis-marketing the film as something it isn't." How do you know the same case isn't happening here? After the Tangled trailer controversy, I don't base if I want to see a film based on its trailer, but rather if I like the people involved, the story interests me and the general reaction from those who have actually seen it is positive. So far, Gnomeo and Juliet checks off the first two points.Wonderlicious wrote:Touchstone or Disney, I think that the viciousness against it seems a bit unfair. I actually found the trailer cute, and I liked the Tiki Room reference (quite simply because I like the silly song
). I hate to claim to be able to read people's minds, but I can't help but think some people simply have some unjust prejudices against it as a non-WDAS/non-Pixar/non-Ghibli film distributed by some arm of Disney.
