I just got an email saying DMC was having their biggest sale of the year- 50% off! But when I went to the website, it says there's a Memorial Day Sale of Buy 1, Get A 2nd Title At 30% Off... anyone know what's up?

Here's what the email says (the relevant stuff):

and...What better way to celebrate summertime than with our biggest sale of the year. Right now you can get up to 50% off your favorite movies, but don’t wait, these hot prices won’t last forever.
You're right about it saying up to, but it doesn't seem like this sale and the 30% Memorial Day sale are the same thing, and I don't see anything for 50% off on the website. Maybe it's just not updated yet?*Discounted titles do not count toward your purchase commitment. Discounted selections are limited to 3 units per title. Sale ends June 6, 2004, and cannot be combined with any other offer, promotion, or rebate (except the bonus collector’s card offer).

I received the 50% yesterday in the mail. Did not talk about having to buy Loin King 1 1/2 at all. Can't find any small print saying you have to either. Most of the 50% off titles (it only applies to some titles) are ones that are very cheap already. Some I can get at Wal-mart for 9.99.

Ok, I have the mail thing now too, and I think I understand it all.
There are some very good deals here, many titles are discounted up to 50% off. Online, it doesn't show that they've been discounted, so unless you knew that the Dinosaur CE, for example, is normally $30, you wouldn't know that the current $22 price tag is on sale. There is no code or purchase needed for this sale, just find the movie you want and the price is already there, and add it to your cart.
The 30% sale is a separate sale, but still active. However, it only applies to movies that aren't discounted on the 50% sale, which can make it a bit tricky. However, it's mostly $19.99 and $21.99 titles. You won't really know for sure, though, until you add the item to your cart, enter the code (given on the home page), and hit 'Apply' and refresh the page. This code does work on TLK 1 1/2, among others.
Does that make sense for everyone? I'm pretty sure I've got it all understood now.
(Oh, and NONE of the items purchased under either of these sales counts towards your membership agreement).
