I agree. I just got the e-mail that Amazon is shipping mine as well. The whole reason I pre-order from them is so the package is sitting on my porch when I get home on the release day. If I would have known they would be shipping them this late, I never would have pre-ordered from them. Who knows how long it will take for me to get them as I shipped using free super savings shipping.
Has anyone else noticed that when the Amazon "pre-order price" is noticeably lower than the current one, and demand is high, that the pre-orders get the short end of the stick?
I've had this happen a few times, and instead of incompetence, I put this down to profit-taking, as the first-in DVDs go to those who ordered recently and paid more, while subsequent inventory goes to the pre-orders.
With this *system*, I wonder how many pre-order customers got screwed (I hear Donald is sold-out) on at least one of their Disney Treasure DVDs?

RE: Amazon
The Chronological Donald is still showing as available on Amazon, and they're still taking orders, but not for long I think as the sales rank is 13 !
But leaving that aside, I'd be amazed if they let any pre-ordering customers down...I think they have a pretty good database system there, and matching no. of pre-orders to number of items delivered is not that hard...
I suspect that the problems some people seem to have with a delay is more than likely due to systems outside of Amazons control - for example, if they cannot connect to the VISA or AMEX, or bank system for a whole day to confirm that payment can be approved, then they cannot ship it for a day. Even a delay of 2 hours might hold up despatch for an entire day depending on how the system is built because everything is queued, not just physically, but also inside the system, and if there's even a short delay (like an hour or 2) in approving the despatch (thus moving that item to status 'shipping soon'), then that order will drop to the back of the queue and wait for the next time.
You have to consider that every single order involves a successful connection, identification, and verification from the credit-card issuer/bank, and if that system is busy, or a little slow, then it's possible there's gonna be a delay.
In this instance, they don't send an email saying credit-card denied, they just keep trying and keep an eye on it. Then if theres a delay of more than one day, after that they might contact customers to say there are systems/communications problems.
I also pre-ordered the WD Treasures Wave 3 set (3 of each for friends here in Europe and myself), and that order of 12 items was shipped on the 19th - the day that they always showed as Estimated shipping date, so Amazon get no complaints from me.
Strangely, another order of Treasures I made 2 weeks after that one was shipped on the 14th...
I agree that their customer service sometimes leaves a lot to be desired. But sometimes it also leaves me satisfied...I guess with the vast no. of queries, complaints, etc they get it's difficult to achieve a consistent standard of service...
enjoy!

That is a good hypothesis about the credit cards getting charged and all of the verification processes that goes along with that, however I think that's a load of crap. I do find it VERY ironic that MOST of the people complaining about their orders not getting processed in a timely fashion are the ones who have had these items on preorder from the very beginning. Something screwy must have happened with Amazon's system this time, and unfortunately the early birds didn't get the worm this time. I guess I should at least be happy that I'm definitely getting all 4 treasures, even if it won't be until tomorrow or the day after.......

I got 3 of mine from PlayUSA, but didn't order early enough seemingly (even though I did it early October) to get a Donald from them. Had that shipped from DVDSoon now. Play ones arrived yesterday, all in good condition. They were GBP16 each by the way (including postage).
Lie with passion and be forever damned...

I'm pretty surprised to see that not only are all 4 Treasures still available at Amazon, but their sales ranks have fallen quite a bit. Aside from Disney Store, they seem to be sold out everywhere else.
