It's ridiculous to judge if TLM is better than Fantasia or vice-versa. It's all a matter of personal taste. And that goes for any DAC.

That's a poor example and strictly a matter of one's taste. It's like comparing apples and oranges. That being said, imho BOTH Fantasia and The Little Mermaid deserve the best treatment when it comes to their blu-ray releases. If you wanna call em diamond, special..whatever, as long as the films are well restored and treated with respect.

A 4 minute documentary, a 15 minutes documentary, some images and audio commentary? A lot of respect :wink:

Changing the subject, heres a nice image grab of the box-set;

I think so. The Little Mermaid is actually my favorite Disney animated film. I spent an entire summer growing up watching it every day.

Little Mermaid has everything a Disney film should have. Wonderful music, comedy, romance, beautiful animation, and a great villain. The story is timeless and so are the characters.
Amen, dude. I've always been a Little Mermaid boy, ever since I can remember. The story, the characters, the colors, the music, just everything about TLM is magnificent! If only they could release it soon! :(

Wow, this actually offended me.
The Little Mermaid deserves the highest there is when it comes to all movies! If you don't like it, then so be it. But don't insult my Little Mermaid.

Now, Fantasia is also a Fantastic film, and the release it is getting is marvelous too. So let's not be ungrateful.

Again, don't insult the Little Mermaid!!!!

Oh I didn't say that Fantasia WAS getting a respectful release, just that both films are equally deserving in their own right.

Just 20 more days! :D

I say 20 because Amazon usually get my pre-orders to arrive a day before release date, so fingers crossed the 7th November :P

While I am not really for both Fantasia films being packaged together, I think it would be a cool idea to release Disney's package films from the 1940's as combo packs like this. So you'd have "Saludos Amigos/The Three Caballeros", "Make Mine Music/Fun and Fancy Free" and "Melody Time/The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad" ...still leaving the films in consecutive order.

I'd say the package features should be paired thematically. Make Mine Music would go with Melody Time and Fun and Fancy Free would go with Ichabod and Mr. Toad.

I could live with that switch but I was just thinking in terms of those of us who catalog our movies in release date order (one of the reasons I don't like having the Fantasias lumped together).

And Song of the South with So Dear To My Heart. Wink.

And then The Story of Mesturation with Four Methods of Flush Riveting.

On Amazon.co.uk, a member has posted this message regarding the Fantasia releases;

"Just had an e-mail back from Disney regarding Fantasia/Fantasia 2000. Looks like we're going to have to wait until next year anyway!! (See Below) although they didn't answer my question about a DVD release of Fantasia 2000.

Thank you for your e-mail regarding your interest in our Walt Disney feature "Fantasia" and "Fantasia 2000".
Please be advised that there has been a change to the scheduled DVD release date for "Fantasia" and "Fantasia 2000" in the UK.
They both are now scheduled to be released on 28 March 2011."

Just as well its only the DVD though - the Blu-Ray combo is still on course :) Disney are just playing so hard to get this year, why release a single edition of Fantasia and a combo, but no DVD only release until 5 months later?

In a way it's so unfair for people who only have a DVD player. That sounds like they 're really pushing people to step over on Blu ray. Buy the Blu Ray and then you'll get the DVD earlier also :roll:

Yeah - especially considering that the more commercial films such as Beauty+Beast are getting a single DVD release either on the same day or a month after the blu-ray.

Indeed. Which is quite silly, because if everyone switched to blus then there wouldn't be any combo packs...
