When?!?! I hope that won't be a trend with them! I did sell my original "Into the Rush" and bought the new one, but I hope they don't do this with every album! Unless we could send in our old one and maybe $5 or something to get an upgrade.

*edit* I just googled "Aly & AJ Insomniatic Deluxe Edition", and it is, indeed, happening. In September! That's rediculous. I'm a fan, but their management or whoever loves that money. Why not release all the songs initially? I can understand, sort of, why "Into the Rush" was rereleased, since they had recorded 3 songs after the album had come out. But, they *must* have planned this one- 2 months after the initial album comes out, they release a "Deluxe Edition"?!?!?! That is just unfair. It's even more unfair if one of the new songs will be a single (like "Chemicals React" was). "Chemicals React" is also on "Insomniatic" (but in a slightly different form), so I wonder if the next single (from the new "Deluxe Edition") will be on their 3rd album. I'm just very disappointed. I'm hoping the songs aren't great, so I won't have to re-buy the CD. I mean, I could always download the new songs...

Oh, wow, they're actually doing it. Well, then yeah I'm pissed off too. That's mean to the fans who've just bought it, to release a brand new better version like 2 months after it. Why not release it at the same time then, like they did with Dignity and Dignity- Deluxe Edition? Well anyway, thanks for finding out that info BC85

, even if it ain't so great for the fans.

Not only are they rereleasing "Insomniatic", they're also apparently rereleasing "Acoustic Hearts of Winter". I don't know if that'll just be the same album (just released internationally) or if it'll have new songs on it, too.

A Deluxe edition for Aly & AJ’s Insomniatic has been set for September 25th of this year and their Acoustic Hearts Of Winter Christmas CD has will be available for the first time worldwide on the same date.

Deluxe Edition
Like the duo's first album Into the Rush, Insomniatic will be released as a deluxe edition on September 25, 2007 along with the worldwide release of their Acoustic Hearts of Winter album.
(that's from the Google cache of the site- it no longer mentions that, but the site now repeats exactly what Wikipedia says on its Aly & AJ page)

Also, according to their Myspace page, all of this Aly & AJ stuff is coming up:

Wow, that a lot of great info and links. That's for all that BC85, I tried looking for it and couldn't find it.

Hmm, good that they're release AHOW, I'll probably buy that. Hopefully it has some extra songs on it, and maybe a DVD with the Greatest Time of Year clip. That'd be nice. Can't wait for some more official info on these. Thanks again BC85!

Also, one of the links above mentions that the Jonas Brothers are having a Deluxe Edition, too, on the same day that Aly & AJ's Deluxe Edition comes out. I'll probably just pick up the original release on August 7th...I already made my budget, and that is the date I wrote that I'll buy that CD. As far as the Jonas Brothers, putting out a Deluxe Edition one month after the original CD comes out is even worse than what Aly & AJ are doing.

There are a lot of unanswered questions about what our single is going to be and the names of the tracks on our record.

We have never been in a rush for this record. We ended up writing 50 songs for this one album. We have now narrowed it down to our favs.

There's not one song on this record we don't believe in. We can't wait to play every single one live. It kills Into The Rush & Insomniatic..

The single has not been decided on because there are so many choices! This record will drop in the fall. We need ur help to rally the fans

As well as people who aren't aware of our music. It's really important to buy the album the first week of sales. Here are some song titles

Hey guys…so we know it’s been quiet in the 78violet camp but we want to first off thank you for sticking with us. We have some big news and wanted to make sure you hear it first.

Now that it’s official, we can tell you we’re no longer a part of Hollywood Records. What does that mean exactly??? Now we have the freedom to take 78violet in the direction we want. We’re writing and recording new music and are really excited on what’s next.

So…what is next? As for the album we recorded for Hollywood, honestly, we don’t foresee it ever being released. But…we are continuing to write and record new songs that we hope you’ll love as much as we do.

We’re going to be taking the Aly & AJ website down in the meantime which means the current message board will be removed and the accounts you created on the site will be put on hold. Yes…major bummer. But we’ll have a new message board and a new temporary site up in a few days that will serve as our main communication with you for the time being.

Ugh, they're scrapping a whole album? I mean, if it even somewhat reflects their artistic beliefs or creative whatever, then they should release it and make some money...I'd like to hear it. I wonder how long it'll take to get a new album from them.

At the same time, if breaking away from Hollywood Records was what they needed to stretch their creative wings, then awesome for them...maybe that's what Corbin needs to do, too...

Anyway, I'm excited to hear new music from them, whenever it comes out.

Did acting play a role in 78violet being let go by Hollywood Records? Over the last few years their tours and releases have been delicately balanced around Alyson and Amanda’s acting careers and now just three weeks after they were dropped from their recording contract, the Hollywood Reporter has an article about Alyson getting the lead and Gail O’Grady co-staring on the CW’s drama pilot for Hellcats.
