In regards to religion, I think in many ways "Hunchback of Notre Dame" is an example of how far Disney would take it in an animated film. It's a shame to say it in such a multi-cultural society as the one we have today, but I personally don't think Disney would push the envelope with a topic as sensitive as religion. I can understand why because of the culture and historical traditions of the company but, as shown with "Hunchback", when they take a small risk and make a film you wouldn't expect them to, they create something that the majority of us all like. That being said, they pretty much seem to have forgotten "Hunchback" exists in regard to another DVD release.

I see nothing wrong with Disney having religion as a topic. Just as long as they're respectful about religion as they are in other Disney films toward cultures (i.e Pocahontas, Mulan, etc). I think Hunchback did a great job of showing both sides of religion while respecting it (the positives of it and how people can abuse it for their own personal gain or agenda.)DisneyAnimation88 wrote:In regards to religion, I think in many ways "Hunchback of Notre Dame" is an example of how far Disney would take it in an animated film. I agree, I'm not saying that there is anything wrong with Disney addressing religion in their animated films, it's just my thinking that there's a limit to how far Disney would be willing to go with such a subject.
The religious connotations of "Hunchback" and Frollo dealing with lust and his fear of hell set the film apart and have made it one of Disney's best. I would live it if Disney did another film in a similar way because I think "Hunchback" is one of only a few films that people seem to all unanimously like.

I don't think Disney should do a film that touches on religion too much, especially in a bad way, because that would alienate their audiences. Disney tries to make things everyone can and will like. I suppose if they made a film that brought good points and bad points about religion together for some message of tolerance and the good it can do, maybe, but...that just sounds like asking for trouble. In a way I guess Hunchback kind of did that.
Well yes, the holy and the unholy. Magic was often a metaphor for the spiritual. A great example is Sleeping Beauty where Maleficent has evil magical powers from Hell but the fairies have good powers (from Heaven? Well, they float down from the sky) that make a shield with a cross on it and the sword itself looks like a cross.Super Aurora wrote:It was also considered a metaphor for something satanic too.Disney Duster wrote: Magic was often a metaphor for something holy.

Religion is a very delicate thing to touch as well as politics...Disney Duster wrote:I don't think Disney should do a film that touches on religion too much, especially in a bad way, because that would alienate their audiences. Everyone has a different opinion about it and you can harm both of them just by telling something or saying what you think about it or even can get sued for something very small

Everyone can and will like oxygen. Without it, we all die. We need a movie all about oxygen.
I propose a Broadway-musical animated film which follows the misadventures of Oxy, an oxygen atom who wonders if he'll ever be anything more, and learning that if he bonds with certain atoms he can indeed become something more. Supporting cast includes his friend Nitro, his girlfriend Oxide, and his cousin Water. Songs will include "The Ballad of Oxy", the showstopping dance number "HOH!" (sung by Water), and a cover of "Light My Fire" by the the villain, Mr. Heat.

Walt approved of oxygen. He used wind and fire quite often in his pictures, both of which contain or use oxygen.
Oxygen: The Disney Musical coming to theatres Summer 2016.
