Watched Drive-Thru with Leighton Meester starring, and I really liked it. Definitely a B-horror type movie with elements from A Nightmare on Elm Street.
Afterwards I watched An American Werewolf in London for the first time. After reading such rave reviews, I was a little bit disappointed, but I still really enjoyed it. I'll see the sequel soon, though I've heard it's sub par.

Trick 'R Treat - Not bad. This was the first time I've seen it. But, I was a little confused as to who the target audience was. Was it for kids, teens, or adults? I mean the movie opens with a couple coming home from a Halloween party - Battlestar Galactica's Helo, and the reporter from Iron Man. The girl from Iron Man starts cleaning up the Halloween decorations outside while Helo goes inside the house and starts watching a porno. Um, ok. The movies has a bit more kids than teens in it actually. The interwoven stories were interesting. I think it would've been better if they left out the porno scene and polished the stories a little more. But, it wasn't bad. Sam, the little gunny sack-head demon child (who looks like a baby Skeletor beneath the mask) is to this like Billy the Puppet is to the Saw movies, but they didn't really explain his story. Oh well, maybe in a sequel?

The Wolfman (2010) - Unrated Director's Cut
Disney's The Legend of Sleepy Hollow - What can I say? A childhood favourite. I haven't pulled out my Gold Collection DVD for a couple years and realized how washed out the colors are. This one badly needs a new restored re-release (and not just a shiny new slipcover as available on the DMC). The sound could use a little restoration too.
The Wolfman (2010 - Unrated Director's Cut) - I like this one. Just the 2nd time I've seen it. I really don't know why it got the flack it did (although I didn't see the theatrical release). What hurt this movie the most, was the akward release date. Had it been released at the beginning of October, it would've done well. But, some bonehead over at Universal decided to release it on February 12 - the same day as the start of the Winter Olympics here in Vancouver. Of course, people were glued to their TVs at home watching the opening ceremonies, and then sports for two weeks. Here locally it was in the theater for only maybe three weeks. I'm hoping it gets an interest boost right now for Halloween and more people see it. I thought it captured the feel of the original quite well (I admit though, some CGI wasn't that great [the stag and the bear]). Rick Baker's makeup work was great - capturing the look of the original but also modernizing it a bit. This one will definitely be an annual Halloween viewing event for me.

Halloween III: Season of the Witch - First I'll make a confession, I haven't seen one Halloween movie prior to watching this one. I was aware that Micheal Myers is not in this one. Having said that, all I have to say is... it sucks! Seriously. It's boring. There's no witch as the title implies - like Blair Witch 2 where there was no Book of Shadows. Masks that kill kids with some electronic device that contains a mineral extracted from a stone stolen from Stonehenge. Seriously? Who in Hollywood wrote this waste of celluloid. And with the doc getting it on with his new found friend, I was hoping for boobage since this was an R Rated flick, but sadly, no boobage. I actually enjoyed duds like Blair Witch 2 and the Star Wars Holiday Special then this poor excuse for a movie. On top of that, I bought this as part of the double feature 2-disc set also containing Halloween II at Walmart. Unfortunately, something is wrong with the Halloween II disc as it freezes the DVD player - there's no scratches on the disc so it's some fault from the factory where it was produced. So I got to take it back now for an exchange. It only cost $5 though, but still.
Yup, I'm holding my head too, just like Little Buddy here. So far my first negative review this year. This movie truly is a hunk o' dung. I still smell the stench today after watching it last night. I'll be honest though, I liked the masks. I want the skeleton one.

This first movie in the series is pretty good, featuring Captain Jack Sparrow in his first big screen role. I'm curious to see this year's remake.
