Hey, jij komt uit nederland! Grappig zeg, een mede-hollanderPatrickvD wrote:It's kind of painful to know some of these people were laid off... at least, since we know so many were laid off I'm just assuming some of those guys were among the unlucky bunch.
They look like a great team though.

Heb jij misschien verstand van animatie opleidingen in NL? Het is echt mijn droom om ooit bij een grote animatiestudio in de U.S te werken, maar ik heb geen idee welke richting ik precies moet kiezen.
Just chatting in dutch, people. Sorry

Succes in ieder geval!
But back to English and back on topic.
Ahhhh thanks for the info! Do you happen to know what day the red carpet premiere will be? I'm guessing Nov 22 or 23?janesjubilee wrote:New information on the El Capitan site!
Tangled will be showing from Nov. 24-Dec 16.
Plus an all-new live stage show before every movie!
Tea Party with Rapunzel is available at select shows. Seating is limited and reservations are required.

I am so going to Tea Party with Rapunzel.

OK. Now that was the trailer I wanted to see.
Is it wrong for me to like the fact that this has gotten a PG rating for brief mild violence? Because it really seems to hint that movie is definitely a bit darker than what the trailers and merchandising imply and from what I read in the books, it really looked like it was heading toward PG.

Did anyone else see the promo they had during Glee? The first substantial ad they've had for the film (that I know of, anyway).
The only problem: that promo doesn't look to attract any non-Disney fans. It doesn't look to attract Disney fans either. It seems completely in the middle, playing to noone.
But people flocked to Alvin and Chipmunks, so maybe I'm wrong. Still, I felt the same way about TP&TF's marketing and...well, that didn't turn out to be a substantial hit either.
And, imo, the animation is fairly unimpressive. There are shots that have a nice gleam to them, but too many look like your average 3D fare (and a few, worse). Glad I got a free ticket with the B&tB Diamond Edition. If it actually turns out to be good, I'll buy a second ticket.

Listening to most often lately:
Taylor Swift ~ ~ "The Fate of Ophelia"
Taylor Swift ~ "Eldest Daughter"
Taylor Swift ~ "CANCELLED!"
Sorry, it's just there is no reason why it shouldn't be G. Mulan was G and that had TONS of action, also it had blood.Tristy wrote:"PG!"
Oh relax. At least it's not for any crude humor or anything like that.
Another reason I'm upset is Rapunzel is going to be added to the Disney Princess line, some parents won't let their kids see the movie because it has a PG rating. I also think that they may have wanted it PG, so it would appeal more to boys.

Well, I've noticed that in the various storybook adaptations, they're very vague over how Gothel injures Flynn during the climax. It's possible she stabs him in the gut or something, which would automatically put it in PG territory. Mulan's action never actually showed any impalement, just people getting punched and kicked bloodlessly.Animalia wrote: Sorry I'm upset, but there isn't any good reason why it shouldn't have been rated G.
Besides, the MPAA's standards have gotten more strict, so you can't compare 90s film ratings to now. How else would you explain a science fiction movie with a little blue alien getting a PG for his comedic mischief while a dark drama with an elderly man lusting over a woman a third of his age and later trying to burn her alive gets a G?
Oh, and I loved this TV spot more than any of the theatrical trailers. It's actually the first time we hear Rapunzel's name spoken outside of those EPK featurettes. Kind of odd, though, that there's still no sampling of the songs. You'd think Disney would want to attract Glee's audience by showcasing some of the tunes.
I understand that most of you Disney fans do not pay attention to the likenesses on Facebook compared to Disney's, "Rapunzel (Tangled)," and DreamWorks Animation's, "Megamind," but check this out.
Rapunzel (Tangled): 24,567
Megamind: 25,031
DreamWorks Animation's, "Megamind," is 464 likenesses away from Disney's, "Rapunzel (Tangled)." Looks like we are going to need more reinforcements to get more Disney fans to like Rapunzel (Tangled), if you can find some. Just a thought.

WHAT AN AWESOME TRAILER!
now i'm even more excited!
That was the last dutch message, guys! back to english and sorry
