I went to Costco this morning and they had all four. Too bad I had already ordered them for Amazon.

Well, despite ordering on August 7th 2003 and being an International customer none of my Treasures is "shipping soon". It's odd, but when I click on the order listing, the product display page isn't showing "Your ordered this product on..." like it does for other items in other orders. I think something in the Amazon system has gone wrong.

Luckly, I've ordered a set from Loaded247, and these appear to have been sent out today (less than 6 hours from ordering).

I don't know what to say... Amazon have really let me down.

Yeah, this time, I believe, ordering them earlier rather than later was the wrong thing to do, at least according to Amazon's system. People who ordered them well after the early birds are getting their's shipped out much sooner.

I went to my local Wal-Mart at 6 AM this morning (it is a 24-hour store) and the Walt Disney Treasures were displayed prominently with all 4 sets side by side and several copies deep.

I bought them at about $24 each and came home and canceled my Amazon order, which still wasn't being processed.

I have ordered thousands of dollars of items from Amazon in the past year, but I am canceling my business with them.

I have had several problems from Amazon not responding to e-mails, or when they do respond, the response is in a very "unfriendly" tone.

This latest situation with earliest orders of the Treasures not being given At Least Equal Priority to recent orders is the last straw for me. From now on, I'll just pick up my DVD needs from my local Wal-Mart - they are generally about the same price and it is now much more convenient than dealing with Amazon's incompetence - at least the incompetence they have shown me.

End of ranting and raving....

Email them and complain about the situation, just like I did. Make sure they know how unhappy you are with their service this time. I did, and I received an email back with the same unfriendly tone, that really didn't answer my question or address my comments at all about the Treasures shipping situation, They just basically said, "Hey, you can cancel your order if you're not happy" and that was it! Lucky for me though, this is only the first incident with Amazon that has irked me. (Just a couple weeks ago we got free overnight Fed-Ex super saver shipping on a $500 Bosch table saw that weighed 125 lbs.. cant' complain about that!) I suppose I will give them a few more chances and we'll see how it goes from there...

I think that they probabbly had a problem with their computers when they changed the release date. I would suggest sending them a NICE letter expressing you felling and they will be happy to help.

I agree that Amazon customer support really sucks. But they shipped my Treasures on may 11, can't complain about that! (Preordered sep 2003)

jebsdad - Didn't you state in another thread that you got Amazon to update your order to get a correct shippingdate? I tried the same, but they replied that they don't do that kind of thing. Perhaps that's what messed it up?

Yes, I seem to have tomorrowland off them. It's still listed as in stock here. Also, you may want to check out www.cdwow.com - they have all 4 in stock and have a good reputation (but I have never used them myself). cdwow take items off the site when they are out of stock.

I sent a nicely worded complaint e-mail, but have not yet received a reply. It will take some special "what can we do to make this right?" reply before I give them any more business. I doubt that I'll even get a reply.

Yes, that is possible - but until I can get them to even reply to an e-mail, I won't know. See my reply to catNC. Even if they give a "decent" reply, it's probably more convenient for me to just buy most items at my local Wal-Mart.

Looks like my treasures will be arriving today from UPS delivery. That would be 3 business days which is pretty fast considering it's supposed to be 5 to 9 business days. Not bad for free shipping. Can't wait to watch em all.

I went to one of the local Best Buys tuesday morning when they opened just to see how many of the tins they would have. Looked like no more than 7 or 8 of each tin. They had them all there and all the same quantity. As I walked in the door an employee was on the phone and had 4 tins in thier hand...I assume a customer wanted some held for them. I would be anxious to see how many of the tins are left this morning.

OFficial response from costco.com customer service on the Tomorrowland situation:

I heard that the distribution company over
sold them and costco.com was not able to get them even though we had
orders. We had to cancel all of the orders. Our warehouses did receive them though if you wish to purchase one there.

I finally got my email today saying they had shipped. I don't know if I will ever preorder from Amazon again. The way everything has been going this time around has been ridiculous.
