Other Animation SURVIVOR - Round 1

Post by AwallaceUNC »

And now for the sequel to the Animated Classics Survivor that we wrapped up last week, in which we'll hunt for the next Survivor to join the ranks of our reigning champ, The Lion King!

It works just like the Survivor TV show. Basically, come on here once every 2 days and vote for the Disney animated film that you want to vote off, i.e., the one that you like the least. Everyone is welcome!!

For the purposes of the game, we'll use the site definition for 'Other Animation,' which is any animated film distributed by Disney, excluding Disney Feature Animation. This includes anything made by Walt Disney Television or Pixar, and any films that fall into special, outside categories of theatrical animation*. You can see the site's list of Other Animation here.

*There was some discussion beforehand as to whether to include 'Spirited Away' in this. The little feedback I received was to not include it, so that's what I went with. However, if you feel it should be included, and I get enough of such feedback, there's an easy and fair way to fix it, but I have to know by the end of this round's voting deadline!

At the end of the round, I'll come on here and announce who got voted off, and a new thread will start for the 2nd round. This gets to be a lot of fun, especially when it gets down to the wire (as you hopefully know from the last game).

You can talk about your reasons for your vote, but I ask that you put the full title of what you're voting for in bold letters so that it's easy for me to count them all in a hurry.

There are signifcantly fewer titles in this game than the last. Therefore, we'll use this plan: 2 movies will leave in each round until the final 10, at which point in time the voting will change. That way, the game should take about one month to complete.

I'm posting it an hour earlier than normal, as a bonus since we've waited a while to play. Our goal for this game: for everyone to make all their votes in bold, all the time, in every round!

So, Survivors ready?? Come on in and vote off ONLY ONE of these movies

The Brave Little Toaster
DuckTales: The Movie- Treasure of the Lost Lamp
The Nightmare Before Christmas
Toy Story
A Goofy Movie
James and the Giant Peach
A Bug's Life
Toy Story 2
Doug's 1st Movie
Dinosaur
The Tigger Movie
Monsters, Inc.
Recess: School's Out
Return To Neverland
The Jungle Book 2
Piglet's Big Movie
Finding Nemo
Teacher's Pet

Also, as with the last game, I ask that nobody else declare a winner. I say that because there have been instances were some drama was stirred up when someone jumped the gun and then there was a discrepency... I come in every day, I promise! :)

Voting ends at midnight (EASTERN TIME) on Wednesday, May 19th.

I guess I'll go for The Jungle Book 2 since I didn't like the original, although I haven't seen many of these.

I'm glad this game won't be as painful to watch. I was so sad when my favorite animated classics left. Hopefully, this game turns out to be as much fun!

Why are some of you voting for Return to neverland, it's one of the best sequels! But hey, your own opinion I guess...
