Disney and Pixar to make Dr. Strange movie?

"Comic artist Brendan McCarthy has claimed that Disney and Pixar are considering a CGI Doctor Strange movie.

In an interview with Bad Librarianship, the illustrator said that he discussed an adaptation of the Marvel Comic during a meeting with Disney.

"I was over in Hollywood earlier this year mooching about, and I had a meeting at Disney and the conversation drifted around to Pixar animating a Doctor Strange movie… Now, wouldn't that be nice," he told the website.

Earlier this year, Marvel commissioned McCarthy to create a new take on Doctor Strange. The finished article appeared in Spider-Man: Fever in April.

The artist also revealed that he has pitched a crossover between Vertigo's Sandman and the 'Sorcerer Supreme'."

I hope not. While I love the idea of The Mouse House providing a home for Spidey and Friends, I think I'd rather that they keep both brands mostly separate, especially when it comes to big screen films. Pixar should be making Pixar films, not someone else's.

Isn't it a bit hypocritical that Disney can (and is preferred to) do adaptations, but Pixar can't? I'd love to see Pixar tackle some of Marvel's properties.

I don't want to see Disney doing marvel either. Marvel should be treated as a fully different entity within the company from Disney and Pixar, and fully do tehir own thing. No hypocrisy at all. I do not want to see cheese brands get mixed together like this.

For some reason, I thought "Dr. Strange" was referring to "Dr. Strangelove." I didn't know there was a Marvel series about a character named Dr. Strange... :?

Not as well known to folks outside of comic book fandom like Spider-Man, Iron Man and Hulk, but still an important part of the Marvel Universe. In fact, he is one of the older characters, debuting in 1963.
