Clubs are fun...I would love to go to a club in Montreal sometime (or anywhere out of the US. One of my close friends went to some clubs in Toronto.

BTW, are you saying what I think you are saying about those clubs or am I totally lost. You can PM me what club it is if u want.....

I'm not they type that frequents these type of establishments, but when we were in Montreal back in the summer of 1992 we went to one and ...wow. I cannot describe it any more than that...just, wow

Hi guys,
It's about time you knew my name is Aaron. I'm a 20 year old student from Kansas who's studying to be a doctor (a specialist actually in anesthetics). I don't know exactly when my Disney addiction began, but I have distinct memories of going to the theatre with some of my family and seeing a re-issue of Bambi. I also remember one Christmas, when our family got a couple of videos (The Little Mermaid, Peter Pan, Cinderella, and Bambi). Well, when I was in high school I took a trip to DisneyWorld and fell in love with it. It was all downhill from there. I was collecting Disney tapes out the wazoo on a mission to own every single disney feature released to theatres. I've succeeded on all except about 20(not bad when you realize there's over 170). Then after a huge reluctance to switch to DVD, I got the Treasures Tin of Disneyland U.S.A. I've been blowing all my money since. I was so infatuated with Disney that I took one semester off college to go and work at DisneyWorld. I was a special effects demonstrator at the Backlot water tank in MGM. I also got pulled around the park as needed (i.e. Parade Audience Control, Fantasmic!, Honey I Shrunk The Kids Backlot Movie Set Adventure, The Atlanta Braves Spring Training at Disney's Wide World Of Sports Complex, and Star Wars Weekend). It was pretty cool because I got to meet and talk to a bunch of celebs (including George Lucas twice!.....he even remembered me). Now I'm back at school studying hard for my MCAT next spring and buying every Disney DVD in sight!

One night while searching for upcoming Disney info, Luke's site came up as a link on a search engine. I've been checking the posts every day since. I think this is perhaps the most user friendly site I've been to. Finally I've found people with the same feelings on Disney DVD as me. Most of the time people think it odd that I'm so obsessed with Disney, but I know I'm right at home here.

Looking forward to many more info scoops!

I grew up before VCRs, so I caught most of the films on theatrical releases. The last Disney films I bothered going out of my way to watch on a movie theater (before being fully "grown up") were Return To Oz (which I thought was interesting), and The Black Cauldron (which I hated). I pretty much gave up on Disney till the theatrical re-release of Fantasia. I did not bother with VHS at all, I just couldn't get into it, mainly the fault of bad formatting & quality. The DVD revolution (and being a parent) has made me Home Video convert.

I am an animation and movie fanatic. Disney is only a part of it, but I am collecting the Disney "classics" (in my estimation) for my kids to watch.

I collect by checklist. I make a list in order of importance and then start collecting one by one, till I get them all. It is not surprising I have most of the films I loved as a kid. I have done a lot of research into other children and family films that are available for home video, and have obtained quite a few of them, a lot of rarities that some of you may be interested in. I will publish my list later.

I used to be an avid reader, till my career and family took up most of my time. Growing up it was weird to realize that Pinocchio was written not by Disney, but by Collodi; 101 Dalmatians by Dodie Smith; Freaky Friday by Mary Rodgers; etc. I read most of the novels the movies are based on.

As you can see, I am a fan of mostly the older films. I do think there are a couple of good films in Disney's bad period, mainly The Fox & The Hound and The Rescuers, and I do like some films after the Little Mermaid, but I consider most of them flawed in one way or another (mainly it is that they are overproduced, have lost the Classics' sense of innocence, and are too self aware: post-modern if you will).

I am also into Horror & SF films. I'd be interested to hear which your favorites are, since you think it is strange to have a taste for both Disney and Horror. My own favorite Horror films are:

The Evil Dead (trilogy)
Dead Alive
Night of the Living Dead (trilogy & remake)
Re-animator
Basket Case (trilogy)
Frankestein & Bride of Frankenstein
Freaks
Cronos
Mimic
Dance of the Vampires
Texas Chainsaw Massacre II

So, some old some new.

Among my favorite SF films are:

2001 Space Odyssey
The Thing (original & remake)
Invasion Of The Body Snatchers (trilogy)
The Puppet Masters
Dark Star

But I also like a whole bunch more. Too many to list here.

Hi Everyone! My name is Yvette, 22 and my Disney fascination started when I was little about 4-5 years old. I don't remember my first Disney movie but I do recollect my grandfather taping Mary Poppins, the Parent trap etc. for me to watch over and over again. Boy did I wear out those tapes. I am so excited to find this website because I had always wanted to find a place where I could find out inside information and chat with other fellow Disney fans. I have a special fondeness for the old live action movies. I am a big Hayley Mills fan. My favorite animated movies are Sleeping Beauty, Aladdin, the Little Mermaid, Jungle book, and 101 Dalmations. Can't wait for Sleeping Beauty! See ya

Well Im a 15 year old guy, and like someone already said, being a Disney fan at 15 isnt exactly "cool", but who cares? I like it.
I like pretty much everything Disney, we had a lot of the movies when I was younger, but I didn't become a big fan until Peter Pan came out on DVD last year. Im a big movie-geek in general. Some of my favorites are Star Wars, Indiana Jones, National Lampoon's Vacation (and its many sequels), Adam Sandler Movies, Back to the Future, and of course, almost anything Disney.

The only thing about Disney I don't like is the current Disney channel, the only shows I think are worthwhile are Boy Meets World and Even Stevens.

I personnally like Disney's "Golden Age", The Lion King is my favorite Disney movie, and my most wanted DVD, right after The Chronological Donald.

I also happen to be a big fan of television, especially Cheers.

This is only like my 3rd or 4th post, but everyone on the board seems to be really nice, I hope to be here long!

Welcome, DVDisney! I share a number of your interests - love Back to the Future, the Vacation movies, Adam Sandler films, Boy Meets World, and Even Stevens. All very cool. And The Lion King is my favorite Disney movie. What coincidences!

My favorite Disney movies are The Lion King, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, Tarzan, Pinocchio, Peter Pan and Mulan.

I haven't found a Disney sequel that Ive liked, besides The Rescuers Down Under, and after looking over several topics, I get the feeling NOBODY likes Disney sequels.

DVDisney, I believe I have more in common with you than with any other person I've talked to on the board, escept for the fact that we all LOVE Disney and many of us are movie buffs. Welcome! Great avatar, it speaks to my generation!

By the way, does anyone know what channels air ALF reruns? I heard that Hallmark was gonna do it, but I don't believe they ever did. I am ashamed to say that I don't remember EVER seeing an episode of ALF, although my parents told me I used to watch it. The only thing I remember is one of his TV Movies, that he has 3 stomachs, and of course, those 1-800-COLLECT commercials. I do have a cool Alf jigsaw puzzle of him fixing himself a meal fit for about four or five people, but that was originally my sister's.

Hallmark did for a long time, but then they relegated it to early Saturday morning showings (like 5:30 or some ridiculous hour). I think he's got way more than 3 stomachs, though.

It's outrageous it's not rerun on any station - it'd be a great addition to Nick at Nite and they did show a week of episodes a few years ago, so I'm sure they COULD.

Anyhow, you should download some episodes. The stuff from the first two seasons are absolutely hilarious. Wish they'd put out boxsets on DVD. For the time being, I'm stuck with the tease "The ALF Files" Canadian DVD.
