Well, Disney seem to be the only manufacturer charging extra for DVD and Digital Copies with their Blu-rays. The issue isn't so much the concept of providing such extras - it's just Disney.
Most of my Blu-ray collection some of my UK discs aren't on their database

That is beautiful. The UK artwork better be changed to that!

It's ok imho but I've to say I like the UK-cover better. Well, at least we don't get this stupid "double play"-border (though I think it's not on the real covers in the UK, too).

i prefer the UK version only if its tighter and less empty space. the f2k cover is so dated.with the same stills.
do you still wait for me Dream Giver?

It's the same style and most of the stills were reused but it's not entirely the same:

yea but its as repetitious as every beauty and the beast covers feature the same pose. wait..so fantasia legacy is still going to be on the f2k dvd? im really lost as to what makes the final cut in these films' bonus features.

Different covers for different regions - its happened plenty of times. Love those German covers except for the fonts, the original Title Card font would look gorgeous.

Plus - the reason why different covers exist is because of the product title and (or) content. They say 2-Disc Special Edition, but the Play.com U.K copies are Platinum Edition.

I've still hope they change the fonts to the originals. Anyway, it's unusual that Disney uses two different covers within Europe. Maybe the UK-cover is some early draft or so?!

Possibly - I do find that blue border to look a bit out of place. There is no texture to it or Platinum/Special banner, so its probs just temp.

For Fantasia/2000,

Please Disney. Give us some new artwork! I mean do you absolutely not like this movie at all? Cause the only way you seem to promote it is in production stills and having the characters completely separate and not interacting with one another like on some publicity for the original film.

Granted, it's cool that you're putting the Spring Sprite as part of the World of Color attraction, but still...

Jeez! This movies even more virtually publicly ignored than the Black Cauldron.

This is what I've been saying all along, I bet they'll totally skimp on features now its not a Diamond Edition. I mean, just look at Beauty and the Beast and the amount of stuff crammed on those 3 discs. Fantasia is a completely more important move in cinema history than B&TB, yet because the latter is more popular, they're promoting it like hell. Thanks Diz!

BTW, I've found a German website that has lots of information;

http://www.bluray-disc.de/news/filme/16 ... bestellbar

Translation would be cool!

From digitalbits.com

By the way, a number of you have asked about the Blu-ray and DVD release status of Disney's Fantasia and Fantasia 2000. Sources tell us they're still on for release sometime in November, and are expected to be announced very soon. So keep checking back for all the latest updates.

Wow, someone beat me to it! Great news though. :) Bill Hunt is a very reliable source for release info.

By the way, I was at Disneyland this past weekend and I asked the dvd/cd store on Main St about Fantasia. The clerk looked at a release schedule in some book and said December. So at least they are not saying they're NOT coming.

I still prefer the UK cover though the German (and US?) one is still lovely. The Fantasia 2000 one needs to be redone, though. The new airbrushed image of Mickey is still clashing with the promo stills.

There may still be hope, though. Look at the spine of Fantasia 2000. That's, as far as I can tell, an entirely new airbrushed image of Donald. Perhaps the Fantasia 2000 artwork has yet to be finalized, and the final cover will better match the original's, placing Donald in the center. Let's see.
