Ok, as promised, here's one of those reminders:

Just in case you didn't see the opening announcement (in which case, you should go read it :)), in this round, you are voting for the movie you WANT to WIN, which is the opposite of how all the other rounds have been. :)

If this goes into a third page, or it looks like there's a problem, then I'll probably post one more reminder.

Oy, I can already see it from here... :(

Y'know, I'd really appreciate it if one of y'all wrote an essay on why Beauty and the Beast is so great, then I might begin to understand. As it is, I find it an incredibly overrated film.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, and I can understand if you think the movie sucks. But you asked, so here's a quick attempt. I agree with Roger Ebert when he said:
With "The Little Mermaid" (1989) and "Beauty and the Beast" (1991), Disney in two strokes reinvented the animated feature, and the movie musical. Both genres were languishing in the 1980s--musicals seemed like a lost art--and these two films brought them to a new kind of life. All the big animated hits since ("The Lion King," "Aladdin," "Toy Story," "Monsters Inc.," "Shrek") descend from that original breakthrough, which blasted animated films out of the kiddie-film category and saw them, as Walt Disney originally saw them, as popular entertainments for all ages.
In my opinion, Beauty and the Beast is great because it succeeds on so many levels. It's got really great music, serious drama, lighthearted comedy, etc. Plus, the themes are universal and easy to relate to, so both kids and adults can enjoy it. Although, the same things can be said for The Little Mermaid and The Lion King, so beyond that, I think it just comes down to personal preference.

I don't like doing this at all, really, since they're both amazing beyond all words, and realy they're just about equeal to me, but Simba has the upper hand -- or, paw. My avatar says it all -- The Lion King.

Wow, this one is close! :o but I would have liked it if some of the more underrated films were in the final two . . . say, Robin Hood and The Black Cauldron . . . well, I was raised on The Lion King, so that gets my vote. Plus it's an incredible movie.

This is an extremely hard decision, but I am going with Beauty and the Beast, if only just for sentimental reasons.

I have to say something in response to what someone said about why Beauty and the Beast is so great. Well, it just comes down to a matter of everybody's personal opinion. In truth, I think it's the better film artistically. This was a really weird vote for me because all four of my favorite movies made the top four, but my #1 and #2 movies came in 4th and 3rd, so I basically just voted for the #3 choice. Anyway, Beauty and the Beast holds the record for most Academy Award nomination for an animated film. The Lion King only recieved four nominations, a feat that has been repeated and supassed by many animated films. Plus, they were all in the music categories. That should say something to everyone!
