Final one-sheet poster:

Image

And more importantly, the final trailer's been released:

<object width="640" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/yZem4c0jm08?fs ... ram><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/yZem4c0jm08?fs=1&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="640" height="385"></embed></object>

The final trailer's been released:

The YouTube video only has so-so quality despite claiming to be HD, so for those who want it, here's a direct Quicktime link to the 720p version (albeit as a slightly faster speed and with Polish subtitles):

http://mm.filmweb.pl/427887/Opowiesci_z ... D_720p.mov

It's definitely an improvement over the teaser trailer and home video sneak peek. It looks much more polished and epic, fitting better with the first two than anything else has led us to believe so far. The cheap motion blur from the digital photography that I noticed in the teaser is almost entirely gone here, which goes to show what a world of difference proper color timing makes.

The shot of the Dawn Treader being tossed about in the storm is my favorite shot in this trailer. The sea monster attack looks pretty dang sweet. Far more grand and intense than I was expecting, and I really like the design of both it and dragon Eustace.

Edmund's being tempted by the White Witch...again? Way to undo two films' worth of character development. When I first heard that the White Witch had a cameo appearance on the Dark Island, I figured it was to terrorize Edmund since that island is where nightmares come true. I remained convinced by this even in her appearance in the teaser. Here, though, it looks like Edmund is really considering her offer rather than just being spooked by her. I really hope that's just some misleading editing on the part of the trailer editors.

I don't know what to make of the new plot that connects all the episodes. They're being pretty vague about this evil force or whatever coming to destroy Narnia, and I don't know how collecting all of the seven swords from the Lords is going to stop that. I guess it's better they don't spoil everything in the trailer, and at least there'll be some surprises left when we see the film.

Overall, though, I'm really excited for this. I was kind of iffy about Fox taking over and decreasing the budget, afraid that this would feel cheap in comparison to the first two from Disney. While I liked the teaser (and home video sneak peek), I still felt like something was off. This new trailer, however, alleviates most of my concerns and gives me hope that this is going to be the sweeping epic it needs to be, fitting comfortably with the first two.

(Why is this thread still on the Disney Discussion board?)

Can we get a 720 or higher version without the annoying subtitles of whatever language that is? its distracting. also, I can't get that poster to load, you have the right URL?

It's still a movie franchise started at Disney, I'd say its relevant enough to keep here.

Edit: as for Edmund being tempted, I see no problem with it. The witch represents Satan/sin, which we will always be tempted with somehow. Just because you resist some temptations doesn't mean your done.

Thankfully, this looks to be the best yet. Hopefully they'll do justice by my favorite of the books. :)

Oh, and I like how Tilda Swinton has a recurring appearance. I would like for them to do the whole series--I could see her fitting in all of them except perhaps The Horse and His Boy.

Sorry to update with news most people might not care about, but Carrie Underwood's supposed to record a song for the end credits of the new Narnia film:

It's to be released November 16th. Hopefully it'll be a good song (she did pretty well with "Ever Ever After" in Enchanted).

We now have a second teaser poster and a final theatrical poster that replaced the old Aslan face with the one from this new teaser:

Image

The second teaser's gorgeous but feels too much like a LWW teaser (which, ironically, that film never had). They should've replaced the snow with drops and splashes of water or even stars. As for the final poster, just the change in Aslan's face and the desaturation of the colors makes the poster look a lot more professional than it did before. Now it sits much more comfortably with the posters for the first two.

We also have a new TV spot:

<object width="640" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/81QtsbA_U2I?fs ... ram><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/81QtsbA_U2I?fs=1&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="640" height="385"></embed></object>

And some semi-reviews (no one who's been to an advanced screening is allowed to do a proper review, merely state their broad opinions):

There are conflicting reports over the running time. One report said it clocks in at about two hours, but others are reporting two hours and 22 minutes. I hope it's the latter.

well, I hope its closer to 2 hours 22 minutes because they have to fit in a lot of plot and i don't know how they'll do it.

Not sure how a song will fit....I thought the one in Prince Caspian was totally out of place.
Disney Channel died when they stopped airing movies with Haley mills (Parent Trap and Pollyanna) and fun adventure movies like Swiss Family Robinson. R.I.P. the REAL Disney Channel. Date of Death: When the shows became teenie bopperish.

I have a feeling the song won't start until the end credits actually do unlike in Prince Caspian where it overlapped the film itself (and to a lesser extent LWW as well). The reason I think this is because it's been announced that Joe McEldery will be singing the theme song for the UK instead of Carrie Underwood. I can't see them going through the trouble of editing two different songs for an English-speaking track if part of the song overlapped with the final scene.

Where was that announced? I've only heard guesses that Joe McElderry might be doing the UK version while Carrie does the US version. Either way, I'm not really happy about it. Neither of the singers seem very fitted to Narnia, IMO.

Well, she has done some pseudo-spiritual songs ("Jesus, Take the Wheel" ugh...and "Temporary Home"), but, yeah, I would've never connected her to this either. :?

New trailer!

<object width="640" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/TcJTrsUdnz4?fs ... ram><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/TcJTrsUdnz4?fs=1&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="640" height="385"></embed></object>

I have to leave for work, so I'll post my detailed thoughts later. To sum it up: this is the best of the trailers released thus far, and the more I see of this film, the more impressed I am with it.

I'm so excited for this. I was heartbroken when I heard Disney was no longer going to produce the series. Thank the gods that Fox stepped in to continue with them.

There was a commercial for this during the CMAs, and it looked incredible! Lucy's really beautiful now (as opposed to that awkward growth phase in Caspian). The ad also had Underwood's song combined with the clips, and I actually thought it was a pretty good song. It gave a kind of "epic" feeling anyway.

LWW was nice, if cheesy. Caspian was more boring (as was the book), but it seemed "better-made" than the first. Voyage of the Dawn Treader should be the best yet, following that pattern.

I'm really hyped for this--this might just be the first Narnia film I see in theaters. :)
