Maybe since they just realised that the last plan would attract more girls, they could make a ride based on Aladdin.
I've always wanted a Magic Carpet dark ride or something between those lines. They should just take the ones from Adventureland and use them for the ride instead.

This is supposed to be an extension of the interview from the previous article, but I don't think I noticed too much new info:

TBH Guess i don't think they will keep all the princess attractions. From what I have heard from other sites it looks like The Little Mermaid Ride is definatly staying as foundation have been layed. I think the might Keep Belle's village As i don't see that aimed toward Girls (expasially with Gaston.)
I can't see them keeping Cinder's of Auroua (Ashame this my fav animated to) But the Girly meet and greats are definalty going!
Will they confirm wats new at the D23 ????

Girly meet and greets? Girly because...you get to meet girls? So if you meet a boy character, that makes it boy-y and thus girls can't enjoy it?

The article said:
“The appeal of the product to everyone, it was a part of the equation, no question. One of the things I thought the early design did fantastically was delivered on that princess experience. And that does tend to skew towards girls. And I think we’ve kept that intact. I know we’ve kept that intact — not exactly, necessarily, the way it was presented but that appeal is there. I think we’ve added some things that aren’t just princess-focused, and that’s a good positive….It’s not about saying, it was only girl before. It wasn’t only girl before. It was broad in its appeal before. Could we broaden the appeal further? Could we make sure it was something that really hit on all the marks? That’s really what we’re trying to do. That’s how this process is supposed to work.”
Finally, a sane response on this issue. The original meet and greets were not putting make-up on or learning how to sew. It was meeting beloved characters who happen to be girls.

I thought about if I were to meet a character that was not in my biggest interest. I picked Jim Hawkins. He would probably let me surf on his board or something. That would be cool.

But this is Fantasyland, it has to be more fantasy related. Well, I wouldn't be too interested in...meeting...Wart? Okay, so I would meet him and Merlin. And that would be fun, less appealing to me than a princess or fairy tale, but still fun. Cinderella's doing knight training. What is wrong with that?

Though I have to say, I think Aurora should do knight training with Prince Phillip, and then leave the Fairy Godmother to teach/let kids perform magic or the mice to build things with kids or something.

THIS IS SOMETHING I JUST REALIZED - All these things have to pertain to FANTASYland. Fantasy. Most of those things are all up my alley. Are they up boys' allies? I would think it would be up every kid's alley.

Peter Pan was the only human character I could think of who is very fantasy related and is a boy, and not one I would be too interested in. But I'm still sure he and his world and other characters with him would all be fun, and I would enjoy myself. Another problem is thinking of movies that are popular and have fantasy related male leads, especially human, and that aren't boring. Pinocchio would work, but we could just do a ride, maybe with a meet and greet. Robin Hood isn't that fantasy or that popular and is kinda boring, at least I think.

I'd rather knight train with Phillip than Cinderella... ;) I'm confused...I don't remember reading about knight training, but my memory is poor. Why would Cinderella even be involved with knight training? And maybe I'm "too old" for this knight training business anyway...but Phillip's pretty cute... :p

The first D23 presentation about this talked about the knight training. It was training to be knights for Cinderella. As you agreed, Phillip makes more sense to do it with, for Aurora.

Then again, I forgot Cinderella had rows of guards with swords all over the palace. But Aurora had knights in her palace too, and once again their was Phillip.

Yeah but that would make sense to do in their castle, not Cindy's chateau or Aurora's peasant cottage.....

If this site is right I has conclued my previous post ..
http://www.facebook.com/pages/Club-D23/120940067942966

Rumors indicate possible changes to the Fantasyland Expansion for MK. They include removal of Snow White's Scary Adventures (would be replaced with Princess M&Gs Cinderella, Snow White, Aurora, etc), new "mystery" ride (D/E-Ticket) replacing Cinderella & Aurora "experience" originally planned for the expansion, & Dumbo theming replacing Pixie Hollow. (Fairies find a new home in Fantasyland)

:'( What a really shame do we really need a M&G (meet and greet) instead ? of SWSA??

I hope that they don't do that with Dumbo considering that he already has a massive area already planned.

Well, that's a shame, getting rid of Snow White's Scary Adventures. :(

I COMPLETELY AGREE!

Snow White's Adventures is in my MK Top 10! All of the FL dark rides are among my Top 10 favorites in the park and they should be adding MORE, not taking them away!

Disneyland has:

Snow White's Adventures
Pinocchio's Daring Journey
Mr. Toad's Wild Ride
Alice In Wonderland
Peter Pan's Flight
The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh (in Critter Country)
Roger Rabbit's Car Toon Spin (in Toontown)
Disneyland total - 7

Meanwhile, MK has:

Snow White's Adventures
Peter Pan's Flight
The Many Adventures Of Winnie the Pooh
Magic Kingdom total -3

That's an Animated Classic Dark Ride score of 7 to 3 and a pathetic embassasment to the Magic Kingdom!

Adding the Little Mermaid ride is A Step In The Right Direction but then to take away the Snow White ride would still just leave 3 DAC-based dark rides in the WDW Fantasyland!

And we should have NEVER even lost our Toad ride. TDO ("Team Disney Orlando") pretended the ONLY way they could find room for Pooh was to tear down Toad. I clearly remember online fans on Usenet newsgroups were posting satellite photos of all the extra land that they are NOW expanding on, while "experts" were posting that this land couldn't be used because it was too close to the fireworks! But we could have clearly kept our Toad and STILL gotten Pooh!

As a fan of the Fab 5, I'm already (in the online minority) disapointed that we are losing Toontown. People always talk about the "cheap tents" but for me, I hardly ever go in the tents. For me, the gems of Toontown that will be heartbraking to lose will be Mickey's House and Minnie's House, with their whimsical, colorful, "squash and stretch" architecture; and charming interiors with layers and layers of details, funny gags, charming propping and placemaking, unique audio (WACKY Radio, Minnie's answering machine, etc.)

Also, I LOVE the music loop in Toontown, with all those wonderful arrangements of those fun and whimsical classic scores and songs from the Silly Symphonies and Fab 5 character shorts (such as "Funny Little Bunnies", "The Country Cousin", "Who's Afraid Of the Big Bad Wolf", "Steamboat Willie/Turkey In The Straw", etc)

For years I've wanted the rumored Little Mermaid ride to finally give us another Fantasyland dark ride, and also give us a long-awaited replacement for 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea. But for me, getting this at the expense of Toontown and now possibly Snow White would mix sadness with the joy. WHY must they ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS INSIST on taking something away everytime we get something new?

There is nearly 30,000 acres to work with here, "TDO". The legendary man you are named after, Walt Disney, said "Here in Florida, we have something we've never had at Disneyland - the blessing of size. There's enough land here to hold ALL the ideas and plans we can possibly imagine"!

I don't want to get too upset until we know for sure if it's closing, but inside sources over at WDWMagic.com are reporting that it will be. I hope they are wrong, but if they are not, all I can say is:

SAVE SNOW WHITE'S ADVENTURES!
"Feed the birds, tuppence a bag"- Mary Poppins
"How high does the sycamore grow? If you cut it down, then you'll never know"- Pocahontas
"I do not make films primarily for children. I make them for the child in all of us, whether he be six or sixty. Call the child innocence." - Walt Disney

Now that's a stupid decision making if this is true. Why must princesses absolutely require to have a meet and greet?

The other thing I don't understand is Dumbo replacing Pixie Hollow. Dumbo already have a spot made for them.

You guys were all on board for this meet and greet low-cost junk, now you're paying for it with the loss of Toontown and Snow White.

I called this monstrosity an Epic Failure of Imagination and Ambition several weeks ago. You guys wagged your finger at me for it. Now you're learning I was right. This thing is going to turn into California Adventure Part II, if trends continue.

I wasn't. I've said all along that I'd rather they add more dark rides than just Mermaid, such as the ones from Disneyland missing in the MK, or something new never done before like a Mary Poppins, Beauty and the Beast, Cinderella, or Sleeping Beauty dark ride. Or even, at long last, bring the Matterhorn to the MK.

In my very first post in this thread, I expressed disapointment that there was only one new ride (found here) http://www.dvdizzy.com/forum/viewtopic. ... ht=#460625 )

I may have at some point diplomatically said I didn't have an issue with the idea of having a few meet and greets, but I've always felt (and said), that they should not be the MAIN thing the expansion is based on, and that there should be more meat on the expansion's bones (in terms of quality new attractions) than just the Mermaid ride.

They are spending a TON of money for just one major new ride, moving Dumbo, and replacing the Toontown Houses/M&Gs, with Princess themed ones.

Hi people I am back with some well .... interesting new information from the site .. http://www.clubd23.com/forums/showthread.php?t=629

Fantasyland Expansion East (current site of ToonTown Fair):

-This entire area will be all themed to Dumbo
-It will include Dumbo's Big Top (the Double Dumbo - next to Barnstormer), a clown-style retheme to Barnstormer, a Casey Jr. food stand, and a pretty large merchandise location
-No tents in ToonTown Fair will be reused due to their condition
-Pixie Hollow is completely dead

Fantasyland Expansion West (former site of 20K):

-Little Mermaid & Beauty and the Beast areas are happening as announced
-Cinderella & Aurora M&Gs are dead
-A Snow White/Dwarf/Mine Coaster/Ride will indeed take up it's existing plot (it's thrills will be less than BTMRR but more than Barnstormer)
-Snow White's Scary Adventures would close to make way for a centralized Princess M&G
-The Princess M&G may be temporary while they build a new permanent location (Skyway?), and a new attraction would be placed in the former SWSA showbuilding

(This Imformation comes from and Insider / someone who works close on the project and this is 90+% accurate.

Here is an interpertation of what the Fantasyland will look like....
Image

Look carefully at the bottom Where it says Princess M&G's yeh thats SWCA'S :(

Hopes this helps u guys - (this site has tones of new info BTW!)

There's a lot to hate and love about this expansion now.

I love that we're getting the mine train roller coaster ride, but I hate that it's at the cost of losing SWSA. I guess they felt there was more appeal to the roller coaster but having 2 Snow White attractions would be overkill.

I love that Pixie Hollow is gone since I've been feeling it was more of a fad than anything else, but do we really need THAT much Dumbo?

I actually thought having Cinderella's house in the expansion before was really neat. Why couldn't they just move that whole idea into that corner?

The absolute best thing they could do IMO is make that upper corner a villain themed area! It's certainly big enough to host a ride, and they could make it really creepy/cool.

When was Toontown ever going to stay? As for Snow White, losing a C-Ticket dark ride in favor of a D-Ticket coaster sounds like a good trade off to me.

Edit: read on another site that Snow could eventually be replaced with another ride when true permanent princess greet location is done.

The only thing anyone is hopefully learning is how ridiculous your hyperboles truly are.

Why would such an "abomination" continue to exist in such a large form? The BatB village, Mermaid ride, double Dumbos with new Barnstormer, Castle wall, Winnie the Pooh queue and play area re-do are all staying according to this new plan while a new Princess greet facility is still coming (just not the two houses).

Surely an "Epic failure of Imagination" would require a more extensive revision?
