Well, I hardly praise it to death, but it is surprising to hear a Miley/Hannah Montana song and really like it, that's all. I mean, it sounds better than the more teenie boppery stuff you usually hear from Hannah Montana.

You have to admit at least that when they get to "NOWHEEEE-RE IMPARTICULAAAR" their voices are scratching the chalkboard BIG time! They just strain their voices and lose quality/consistency completely. The yelling part does not work. My other problem is the music isn't good. The rest of it's a bit marred by sound effects- but the gargling was semi-amusing.

'Tis my honor. C'mon, Ichabod and Mr. Toad is a masterpiece. Nothing in there not to like. And Katrina is a goddess.

I love the movie too and maybe my biggest complaint kind of helps it out, but I'm not sure. Mr. Toad is a terrible character. I couldn't stand him. He's spastic and a jerk and I like my movies to eliminate or severely punish people like that. The guy gets away scotfree and, basically, we're supposed to find him amusing. No way Jose! It would have been a better movie (albeit, stranger) if he had come to a bad end. I would have been happier if at least they tried some kind of bittersweet thing where M(a)cBadger, Rat, and Moley had gotten Toad Hall and he'd been kicked out... but he had learned the meaning of friendship. Somethin' corny like that. Least then we wouldn't be getting the message that we can have anything we want, after having an exciting adventure. Never have to take any responsibility for our actions.

I like that tune quite a bit, though I have to say that I've come to prefer the choral version that was recorded for Disneyland's "Mr Toad's Wild Ride":

- "Go the Distance" - bland and boring, it works better as a piece of score. In fact, most songs in "Hercules" are rather weak, "I Won't Say (I'm in Love)" and "Zero to Hero" being notable exceptions.
- "When We're Human" - I see people mention "Gonna Take You There", but I think this one is worse. It's just a pointless filler song. At least "Gonna Take You There" has a catchy melody and is accompanied by gorgeous visuals.
- any song from a sequel made 20+ years after the original, they always end up sounding too contemporary.

I actually thought the same thing when I saw the film for the first time. I thought the song was extremly sappy and bland. Now it has grown on me, though. I do like some of the songs in "Hercules", although they're not Menken's best work.

"When We're Human" is passable enough, while "Gonna Take You There" is simply the best song from "The Princess and the Frog". I actually liked the songs from the movie.

I think that's what makes it so refreshing. It doesn't need moralizing, it ends on a light-hearted note. Some people never change; that's very authentic!

so true My least faves are "Human Again" and "Morning Report." HA was at least tolerable, MR was "Oh God, burn the DVD!" kinds-of-awful. Especially since they couldn't even get Mr. Bean back to do one line as Zazu and eliminated the pouncing lesson.

And technically this doesn't count since it wasn't re-integrated, but Clay Aiken singing "Proud of Yer Boy" made me actually stop the DVD in the middle, put it away and never return to that particular bonus feature.

So ending the movie with a, "there he goes again" and a smile and a wink is just begginig for a; "HELLO!? Was I the only one watching?" response. Basically, this isn't a sitcom where it doesn't matter how annoying the characters are.

I find I disagree with most everyone's choices except for the direct to video sequal songs and most Disney Channel stuff.....which I loathe as well....

I have to say I really like most of the theatrical release songs....I adore many of the titles posters say they detest....the rest don't bother me...

I don't know but I've never been a fan of the song, I don't know why I don't care for it but I just don't. Maybe because all the songs in the movie are big numbers and this one isn't?

Oh why, why Alan Menkan? I think the song is probably one of the worst songs I have ever heard. Not only does it scare me, but I can't listen to it for more than five seconds. Give me It's a Small World anyday!

"Ma Belle Evangeline" (Princess and the Frog)
Probably the least memorable song in the movie. When I think of "A Whole New World" or "Beauty and the Beast" it just doesn't compare. It's a cute song but not a great song and most of the romantic songs in Disney movies are usually the best songs from the movies.

"Listen With Your Heart" (Pocahontas)
The movie to me is boring on its own and the songs were the only things that kept me from being completely bored. This song however didn't keep my attention whatsoever.

"Can You Feel the Love Tonight" Deleted Version (The Lion King)
No, I'm not talking about the one from the movie. I'm talking about the one that was originally going to be in the movie. Having Timon and Pumbaa sing part of the song makes it cute, but the whole song?

I don't find him to be unlikable. I felt sympathy for him. (But maybe that says more about me than it does about the film?) But we're not discussing movies here, but songs.

Of course, but it's funny. That's why (we) love it. Funny is good. If I heard it playing somewhere, totally disembodied from the film, I would know where it's from, flash back on how hilariously ugly and nasty the campy stepsisters were, and laugh. I mean... calling that out for being bad is like setting up someone else to deliver the "D'uh! It's supposed to be" punchline. Which would probably be more funny offline.

No idea how we got here either. But I'm still right. Everything about his physical behavior patterns cements what I've said. Whenever anyone tries to tell him he's doing wrong, he doesn't even respond with "oh, here goes another lecture." He doesn't even stop smiling. He just starts fooling around, mocking the person by doing something like playing with his ears. And I doubt it was all the influence of Cyril for his rotten personality. He didn't just go and have fun without thinking twice about how he'd hurt his friends. He actually never stopped to think about anyone but himself... until he was in jail. That's it. That's the only time. He gets out and he almost ruins everything by creating a scene in the boat, under the bridge. He can't control himself because he doesn't care about anyone. How can we ever like a character like that? Ever?

Sorry. Rant (now) off. No more of this (since I more than proved my case - ).

As for "The Merrily Song," it's like I said. No one can deny their voices screech during the key moment of chorus in the song and the music is not that special at all. That sound during pinnacle-scratch is absolutely the single most irritating moment in Disney Song history. Even more than the other #1/2 contender for Worst Disney Song (not from a sequel), "Lack of Education."

Haha, their version is funny, but the song itself it's quite beautiful, especially when Cinderella herself is singing it.

Agreed. It's not a horrible song, but it's the weakest song in the movie and doesn't really have a purpose.

Agreed. It's not a bad song, but it gets surpassed by the other songs and by other love songs. "Beauty and the Beast", "A Whole New World", "Kiss the Girl", "Can You Feel the Love Tonight" and even "If I Never Knew You" are better songs.

I disagree. While it's not the worst song of the movie, I've always liked the melody and the lyric. However, the song is really short.

1. I Love to Laugh-The only song in Mary Poppins that I don't really like. It has an ok tune, but the onomatopoeia of laughing, and Ed Wynn's somewhat grating voice doesn't really do well for me.

2.Lucy and A Dance 'Round Memory Tree-You probably don't know these, they play in the end credits of Prince Caspian. I have them because I bought the Prince Caspian album, and they're pretty bland to me.
