Anyone have a clue what I should do? So far, I absolutely HATE these A*Holes at Disney Movie Rewards. I spent a butt-load of money to see Toy Story 3 and now they refuse me some meager points that aren't enough to get me a paperclip. I've now spent nearly 2 months of my life trying to redeem these Toy Story 3 points but they just don't care.

Worst customer service EVER!!!!

EDIT: Found a number, talked to a girl with a cute voice who got everything fixed up in seconds. Definitely calling first next time.

Nice. What did she do to fix it?

She took a couple of seconds to bring up my information, found my emails (unread) and my pictures (supposedly lost), said she didn't see any problems with my submissions and just credited me the points. Done.

It's hidden so they can push the automated email service.

I'm coming to this thread pretty late, and I don't have the time to read the full 72 pages of it, but...

What I want to know is when will DMR stock Blu-rays for prizes/gifts? Unless, someone has news to spill, I have a feeling I may be waiting a long time for that to come to pass.

If my memory serves me correctly, there has been no news about releasing Blu-rays on DMR. And if I know Disney, it will be whenever they feel like it.

Thanks. The only prize that I got from DMR was the So Dear To My Heart DVD. Any other suggestions?

I have over 5,000 points with them right now. I might wait until I see something that really catches my eye (like a free Blu-ray!).

Donald Duck 4 Pin Set arrived and it is absolutely gorgeous. High quality wooden hinged box w/certificate of authenticity & 4 beautiful pins. Also got my Ellie UP Grape Soda pin from the Disney Movie Club today. Didn't order a dvd (just paid the $6.98). It is fantastic too.

They SAY you get it free when you order a blu ray but you go to the PIN page & just add it to your cart (some pins are $4.95, some are $5.95, the Ellie is $6.98) & it doesn't even charge you shipping. I've gotten a few pins that way (I never order more than one pin or more than one of a particular pin just in case it would get me in trouble). You click on More Magic on the side & then on vip pin store which takes you to the pins. Maybe you can't access it if you aren't a VIP member. That's how I did it.

Beginning October 1st if you have entered at least 2 blu ray codes within one year of the anniversary month of when you joined DMR you get a free blu ray. NOT a really great selection though. 3 are offered: The Rookie, Eight Below & Chicken Little.

Wait, isn't any day "within one year of the anniversary" of anything?

Actually, I just read the email now and, confusing wording aside, it does sound like they mean if you entered two magic codes in the last 12 months (up to January 31, 2011). Then you'll get an email during your anniversary month -- whenever it falls after October 1, 2010 -- with the offer.

BTW, it's $4.99 for shipping & processing.

Is Eight Below worth it? I've seen Chicken Little and I hated it. I haven't seen The Rookie, but despite my lack of interest in the sport, some of my favourite sports films have been baseball flicks, for some odd reason.

I've read that Eight Below is pretty decent and Disney does have a history of decent dog flicks (Homeward Bound, Old Yeller, The Ugly Duschound, etc.) Plus, the Alaska scenes probably look amazing in HD? So, if I were to choose one of the three, it will likely be that one. I mean, it's only four dollars, which is a pretty good bargain.

Yes....but...

Caveat emptor: if you're into supplements, the Blu-Ray only has one commentary (two were recorded), and doesn't contain supplements from the DVD (deleted scenes, making-of featurette, the other commentary). But it adds a "BluScape" short not on the DVD.

IMO Eight Below is easily the best of the three, although I've only seen parts of Chicken Little (and what I saw I didn't like).

I'm not into sports films but did like The Rookie, probably because it wasn't your stereotypical "team beats the odds, hits rough patch but gets it together to triumph in the end" plot (although there were inevitably some elements of that). Eight Below though was more engaging, lots of action and drama with a few sad scenes (as tends to be the case in Disney's better dog movies -- this isn't Snow Buddies!) And yes they make full use of the scenery (it's set in the Antarctic, not Alaska -- although they probably filmed in the latter).

Corrected my post above, based on a second copy of the email I saw. Your email will indicate what your anniversary month in 2011 is, then list the date you have until to enter the codes further down.
