Toy Story 3 Top-Grossing Animated Film of All-Time
http://animatedviews.com/2010/toy-story ... -all-time/

So, I think I read that as "Top-Grossing Film of All-Time" and was excited that it beat Titanic and Avatar. Still awesome, though! :thumb:

Very good news! It definitely deserves it!
But the thing that makes Woody special, is he'll never give up on you... ever. He'll be there for you, no matter what.

I'm sorry that this post seems like an excuse for smilies, it's just that I'm glad that it beat something that didn't deserve much attention. :p

Now if only a WDAS film could do half as well. :|

I'm more disappointed that it's not going to pass Shrek 2 domestically than I am happy with this achievement. North America, you let me down!

When I read what Luke had posted, I didn't quite understand...but now I do:

Why 'Toy Story 3' Is Not Actually The Highest Grossing Animated Film of All Time

It additionally sucks because even with inflated 3D ticket prices, Toy Story 3's $400 million domestic gross still probably won't come close to Shrek 2's $441 million (without 3D). That's what I thought Luke meant when he said that North America let him down.

It still made the money I say. people were still willing to pay extra for 3D showings.

In an ideal world we would be able to judge a film's success based on tickets sold, but since we can't really do that, we have to go with money.

If ticket price inflation would really count 'Avatar' wouldn't be the highest grossing film, but still 'Gone with the Wind'. On the other hand was this movie rereleased a thousand times worldwide.

Actually we could. In fact there are some countries which do that, including Germany.

And now, Toy Story 3 is Disney's top grossing movie that doesn't star Johnny Depp. Only Pirates 2 and 3 and Alice in Wonderland have made more for the Mouse.

what a ridiculous post!

Snow White made its money across multiple decades. I think the real winner in terms of tickets sold during its original theatrical run is The Lion King.

Damn right. I had no problem paying extra for 3D for Toy Story 3 (I think maybe 5 out of the 8 times I saw it were 3D). If it were any other movie I probably would've been like "Ehhh I'll wait for a regular showing" lol.

Lotso Audition Video (Toy Story 3) from Walt Disney Studios NL

I liked the Ken & Barbie and the Ken solo ones better, but the ending of this was funny.
