All these assumptions about beer are really getting to me. Do people actually think Disney named the Kingdom without any thought put towards the meaning of the word?
Coronas are a solar phenoma, named from the Latin word for Crown. The same goes for the beer's name, also coming from the Latin word. They share the same original meaning - 'crown', that's as far as the comparison between the two goes.

I love the complete inability to google that folks around here have.

Corona is a plant structure that is most commonly found among Passifloraceae, also known as Passion Flowers. These are Flowers that are extremely colorful and rich with nectar.

Geeh, I wonder if that could refer to the flower that gave Rapunzel magical powers?

You know, I was thinking about it and I realised that this is actually the first Disney Animated Classic since Treasure Planet to not be set in the United States. Just look at the settings of the last films in the canon:

The Princess and the Frog - New Orleans
Bolt - New York, California
Meet the Robinsons - The United States
Chicken Little - Not specified, but I assume it's the US.
Home on the Range - The Wild West (most likely California)
Brother Bear - Yukon or Alaska, I don't remember

And then, we have Treasure Planet which was set mostly in outer space. Compare this to the '90s, when Pocahontas was the only one set in the US.

Dont forget Atlantis which is set in Washington DC and in the ocean somewhere. Add Lilo & Stitch set in outerspace/Hawaii and you have Tangled being the only Disney animated feature released in this decade to be set in Europe!

You're right, although Enchanted technically had about five minutes in Andalasia, I don't think it counts as animated. And I believe Brother Bear is suppose to be in Canada, since they always refer to the moose as Canadian.

Please don't mind me, and feel free to keep asking questions - I just sat on a grumpy stick today. It was a reasonable question ... it's just not one I can answer very well without risking some industrial strength spoilers. I do get frustrated with people wanting me to tell them the entire movie (particularly since, now that it's 3 months later, I don't even remember some of it) but that's not what you were doing. And if you're a villain fan, I can really understand your being frustrated by the studio's info blackout.

Tangled has a real zonker of an ending, and I would be a Disney villain myself if I spoiled it or the events leading up to it. In fact I've hastily deleted a few of my posted answers in the past, realizing that I'd given away a bit too much. I once even stopped the car, turned around, parked, ran back inside, and booted the computer just to delete an answer I'd posted right before I left. So I'm just trying to be extra careful.

I REALLY want people to know how good Tangled is, which is hard to do without spoiling the good stuff. Just please take my word for it that Gothel rocks, and (extremely mild spoiler) even though there are stretches where R & F are dealing with unrelated situations (the movie IS about them after all), G makes quite an impression with the screen time she has.

I might be convinced to get a bit more spoilery - just a bit - in a PM.

Dont forget Atlantis which is set in Washington DC and in the ocean somewhere. Add Lilo & Stitch set in outerspace/Hawaii and you have Tangled being the only Disney animated feature released in this decade to be set in Europe!

I'm pretty sure the crew went on a trip to Alaska for research. And when Kenai and Koda travel to where the lights touch the earth, they're clearly referring to Alaska. Kenai is also a city in Alaska.

so yeah, Brother Bear most definitely took place in Alaska.

From all the various stills and peices of animation that have been released, the look I keep seeing is that of stop - motion. I dont know if its how the characters are designed or how they move, but the feeling is definitely stop motion ....

I don't know why, but I think that would be a fun ride at Disneyland. I mean the directors said they would like a ride based on the movie.

The french poster is terrific and reminds me of the posters of the 90s Disney films. They should totally use that poster everywhere.

It makes the film look like comedy I'd actually want to see. Even though I know what type of film we're in store for.

Every time I see Disney merchandising in Europe, the more I'm convinced that Europeans are the one that should be in charge of Disney. I mean c'mon! They at least give decent titles, their trailers are more like the movie s than what is in the US and their posters do a better job of capturing the mood of the film
