That's incredible, atlantica! Congratulations! :pink:

I'm with blackcauldron. I think find out as much information as possible and then go for it! Also, maybe they just want to see you audition again and the Tokyo auditions are a way of doing that?

At any rate, congratulations again! That really is incredible!

Congrats, atlantica! Hope that they can give you a good position in Paris if you decide distant relocation isn't for you.

I know this feeling of being placed in a confusing predicament. I think that the Paris team might simply be testing your determination by asking you to audition for Tokyo, or they might have accepted too many applicants and might want to use the Tokyo auditions as a sort of second audition round for Paris; those who wouldn't win would then be given the option of going to Tokyo Disneyland.

Either way, I'd go to the Tokyo audition, as you've currently got not much to lose, even if your heart is currently dead set on Paris (in fact, if my theories are right, then it'd be a very good idea to go if you want Paris). I think that you would be instant given accommodation in Japan, where you'd probably be living with other face character players (all from America or Britain). And the staff in Japan would speak to you in English, since they know that very few people from Britain and America know Japanese.

I would really love to go to Japan (the culture, language and landscape really intrigues me), but I agree that a relocation to Paris would be easier and more comfortable. Either way, good luck and I hope that you do get a placement where you'll be happy. :)

Tell them you'll do the Tokyo audition.

While it may be a genuine interest they have in sending you to Tokyo, it may also simply be a tactic to see how much you want the job. It's a move used by many companies in the hiring process. They ask you if you'd be willing to do *more* for the job that you've already accepted, and if you say yes, then they knew they were right to hire you (and sometimes have no intention of actually needing you to do that "more" you said yes to). If you say no, then they may have doubts as to whether you're committed to working for the company, or just wanting a job and being content with what you've been given.

E.g.

An applicant for a position as a high school history teacher is asked in his interview if he'd be willing to coach the JV soccer team when the school year begins. The applicant, who has no experience in soccer, says yes and privately reminds himself to get a "Soccer for Dummies" book after the interview. He knows that by saying "yes" it shows he is willing to commit himself to more than just the job he wanted, that he's committing himself to the school entirely. The school gives him the job.

An applicant for a position at a retail store is asked if he'd be willing to volunteer with a literacy outreach program for young children, which the store has run for years. The applicant only wants the job part-time and so says no. They only need the job at the store until they find a better one, they don't want to invest much else into it. The store passes on the applicant and hires someone else.

Of course, the caveat of all this is you may end up in Tokyo even if your heart was set on Paris. But like Wondy said, they'll likely set you up with housing and English-speaking cast members.

Gosh you guys ! Thank you so much for your words of congrats and encouragement.

What you have all said makes sense, about it almost being a 'test' of how dedicated I am to wanting to work for them. And it all comes down to the point of yes, it is a job I am desperate to do. So therefore, I am going to go down to London and have a go at auditioning ! ....again .... !

As it was said by Naveen in The Princess and the Frog, "Life is short, when youre done, youre done ! We are on this Earth to have some fun !" I'm just going to go for it :)

This time, its a purely character based audtion; does anyone know how they differ from other auditions ?

Wow, that is the most fantastic news, Atlantica! I'm so incredibly happy for you. Please keep us updated on what happens and whatever does happen, may your dreams come true :)

As for me, it turns out that the auditions for Disneyland seem to be just for fur characters at the moment. I'm not 100% sure, but that's what I've heard. I still plan on attending, though, for the experience, if anything. Who knows, maybe they'll see me and can't help but think "she has to be a princess here!"

Youll walk in and they will 100% think that. I know they will ! :)

Just go for the experience; it always helps to be prepared, and have some idea. You never know, you may enjoy it, and want to do it ! And from what I have been going through with Disney at the moment, you never know; that may say come back for face auditions, as you are very suited for it, you know ?

So I'd say still go, and LOADS of luck to you !!

So ..... the audition coming up is on monday ..... and if possible, I am even more nervous now than I was before !!! This is a purely face character audition, so I dont know how it is different from other kinds of auditition; I know its brutal though, with many being cut within moments of arriving, based solely on looks.

Is anyone on here thinking of going ? Could say hi if so ! :)
