Is it just Adelaide, or recent Disney releases lacking a slipcover?

Walt Disney Home Entertainment is very excited to let us know about Tinkerbell and the Great Fairy Rescue coming to DVD and Blu-ray on September 15. So excited, in fact, that they have sent us 8 minutes of the film as a preview of what to expect.

The US release is December 7. It sucks that you and all the other Aussie's have to wait until March to get Fantasia.

Oh, it's okay. I'm not that big of a fan of Dumbo anyway (it's good if I'm in the mood, but I'm not usually in the mood to watch it).

So excited, in fact, that they decided to place a trailer for it in front of Toy Story 3 here, instead of some of the trailers the US have been getting. Which was followed by "Coming to DVD and Blu-Ray..." on screen, and someone in the cinema saying "Straight to DVD", and the entire theatre laughing...

Ah, was wondering about this. The Alice in Wonderland DVD that just came out says "November 2010". Silly international editions.

2 DVD set of Ponyo released tomorrow (12 August). I kind of wish I had waited, not sure whether the set is worth getting over the standard release.

Shame MadMan couldn't have released this set first and it would be nice to get some of the Special feature from the Region 1 Disney releases.

Edit: Just realised today is Tuesday, 10th of August not Wednesday (just over an hour to go though).

Oh yeah, sorry you're right. I'd forgotten that it had already been released in Australia, even though I was waiting for it to hit retail shelves at the beginning of July in NZ. After a bit of checking I found that it had been delayed for New Zealand. Probably find they delay a lot of things in comparison to Australia (MadMan that is). Most release dates in NZ are the same as Australia though.

Anyway, anyone know if it's worth upgrading?

And something completely off topic: Madman have a "Screening Room" page where you can view a few select full episodes of anime TV series.

For all those who haven't yet jumped into the fabulous world of Blu-Ray I just got an email from Sanity for their new Blu-Ray bundle offer - a Sony Blu-Ray player and 4 titles for $199 and there are some Disney Blu-Rays involved including Toy Story 1 & 2, Alice In Wonderland, Up, Snow White, Princess And The Frog and all 3 Pirates movies!! They all look ridiculously good on Blu-Ray and normally just the player by itself is about $200 so this is a crazy good deal :)

Just thought I'd let you all know - http://www.sanity.com.au/specials/409/U ... Ray_Bundle it's only available online and apparently stock is limited!

Don't get too exited by the recent announcement of Fantasia and Fantasia 2000 being released in November in the US and UK - my contact at Disney tells me it's still schedule to not be out in Australia until February 2011 :( I don't get it but it's not the first time it's happened and it won't be the last I'm sure!

Just confirmed that my Blu-ray player can be made region free (Soniq QPB302B), so no worries about region locking any more. Even better, it was only $99 AU ($93 US).

Anyhoo, on a related note, here is the press release and fun facts for 'Prince of Persia' in Oz. Mmm, Gemma Arterton.
