You'd pass on a loaded two-disc set (be it Blu-Ray or DVD) if in the off-chance there were a 3-minute music video with Alvin, Simon, & Theodore Jonas?

Yeah, simply don't watch them. I couldn't care less about them, frankly, and never even watched any of those videos. As long as they're not the only special features a movie gets, I don't care.

Toys R Us

Post by wrestling_stat »

Sorry if this has already been discussed but I couldn't find anything about it...

I was at Toys R Us the other day and noticed this promotion that they are doing. I was wondering if it was worth doing especially if we get a $10 off coupon or if any company like Target or Best Buy was doing a better promotion.

The Details:

They also have a similar deal with the new TinkerBell movie:

Sorry that the picture are blurry, they were taken with my camera phone and sent to my email account.

So what do you guys think? Is it worth it?

Thanks for all your help.

Yes the Toys R Us deal is definitely worth it. I'll be preordering B&TB on Tuesday & buying James & The Giant Peach (with the $10 discount & the $10 coupon it should be around $5). It's a helluva deal.

I would do the Toys R Us pre-order but I'm not sure if there's going to be a steelbook or not for it.

Walt Disney Records will be re-releasing the soundtrack to Beauty and the Beast on September 14th to coincide with the new Diamond Edition DVD and Blu-ray releases this year. The tracklist remains the same as the original soundtrack with one addition: Jordin Sparks will be singing the song Beauty and the Beast. There’s still no word on if the old Jump5 music video from the special edition DVD will be on it or if it will be replaced by a possible Jordin Sparks video.

Another color comparison. The caps are not top quality, but we can make us an idea.

Watch this trailer:

And compare (one more time, lol)

The good news is that we get more image than ever before, but i'm still a bit disappointed with the colors...
I'm not bad. I'm just drawn that way.

That's okay album art.

And that's the only real thing I can say.

HMMMM, I wonder If I should get this or not. If it's the same as the 2001 re-release, really, what is the point? I can just rip the audio from the music video of Jordin Spsrks song, so there is really no reason to buy this. I don't even like the cover lol

Also, I doubt Jump 5's music video will be on the new release. They Disney doesn't seem to carry over any remakes to the songs, just make new ones. :)

I think she just has it pulled over to one side.

the bottom cap looks closest to the 3D trailer. actually, I'm not critical because it already looks the most dimensional, and 3D glasses darken the image anyway.

Well, since that's the trailer for the 3D re-release and not the Blu-ray, we can't really read too much into that (especially since they tend to use old sources when advertising a new product). They obviously want the picture to be as close to the 1:66:1 CAPS source (more on top and bottom) as possible as that aspect ratio will display the 3D better (as opposed to the original 1:85:1 ratio). As for the color, I'm trying to determine if they're worse than the Platinum Edition ones. Before (during the ballroom scene) Beast turned from brown to orange-ish but now he turned yellow-ish. Either way, they're both unnatural looking.

I'm just surprised that they aren't advertising this as the "20th Anniversary Edition." Makes you wonder if the Fantasias will be advertised as "70th and 10th Anniversary Editions" or if they're just going to drop the whole anniversary mentality completely???

At this rate, I'm wondering if they are going to advertise Fantasia at all (wink).

Seriously, though, looking forward to Beast on Blu.

I think the trailer linked is really just a 2D version of the 3D trailer-hence, it being brightened up. since this movie will be released in 3D only, it's sensible to say they fiddled a bit with the colors so that it would look just right with the glasses on.

New Color Comparison Update!

For those who care, I've updated my original color comparisons with brand new, much higher quality ones, using the press images found on Mouse Info. These are the same images found on Disney's official website, only MUCH higher quality (well beyond HD, so you can see every pencil mark on the animation and brush stroke on the background art). I also added a new comparison between Gaston's tavern (where the red-hue is the most prominent). I deleted the old ones and replaced them, so I wouldn't be over crowding this thread with endless posts featuring these comparison images that not everyone cares for.

http://www.dvdizzy.com/forum/viewtopic. ... 413#510413

I'd also like to make it clear as to the reason I'm posting these comparisons in this thread as opposed to the one already made to discuss the color/changes. Simply put, these images are being used specifically to promote the Diamond Edition release, so there is a possibility that they could represent what we see this October. If these were being used to promote the 3D re-release or were just old VHS/Laser-Disc images, I wouldn't be putting them here.

For those who hate these comparisons, thanks for putting up with me.
