New Gargoyles DVD info....
I got bored a little bit, and decided to search around and compile all the rumors regarding a dvd release of Gargoyles. Here is a bulleted list of what I've found.
-originally Disney decided they would release a single disc with the chopped up version of the first five episodes (a la the Gargoyles The Movie VHS)
-the disc was to be released in 2003
-in April 2003, Disney met with gargoyles creator Greg Weisman in a 'brainstorming' meeting that resulted in the news that Disney would release the complete first season with commentary track(s), and one or two extras
-the earliest this would be available would be October-December 2004 (incidentally this coincides with the 10th anniversary of the premiere of the series)
-no official anouncement from disney regarding a dvd release has been scheduled
NOTE---The only current release of Gargoyles available from Disney are the following VHS tapes:
1. Gargoyles the Movie: The Heroes Awaken (episodes 1-5)
2. Gargoyles: The Hunted (episodes 6-7)
3. Gargoyles: The Force of Goliath (episodes 8-9)
4. Gargoyles: Deeds of Deception (episodes 10-11)
5. Gargoyles: Brothers Betrayed (episodes 12-13)
Most people don't know this, but when the tapes are played in this order it is the complete first season. All thirteen episodes. Because there are only 13 episodes and they are 22-25 minute episodes, I can easily see this season and some extras on a 2 disc set. It wouldn't be that hard, and Disney has already mastered this season for release.
Since Disney has learned that 2 disc sets sell quite well, it wouldn't be unreasonable to look forward to a dvd release of Season 1 of Gargoyles later this year. Keep your internet tuned in to UltimateDisney.com because they will be the first to break the news.

I really hope Gargoyles, and also The New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, Ducktales, Chip & Dale: Rescue Rangers, Darkwing Duck and Goof Troop could be released on season sets. I grew up with these spectacular Disney TV series! Actually, Disney could release them as part of the Disney Treasures series, too.

BTW I also grew up with the wonderful and popular Disney Afternoon in the 90's.
But knowing Disney they won't put them in the Treasures.
That's a great idea!!! They should have the Disney afternoon Treasures. I like the sound to that. Gargoyles is on my top list that I will get first if they are relase followed by Darking Duck.I really hope Gargoyles, and also The New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, Ducktales, Chip & Dale: Rescue Rangers, Darkwing Duck and Goof Troop could be released on season sets. I think that's a good idea as well, so long as it was its own line (Disney Afternoon Treasures) instead of in the regular Treasures line. I'd like to have all of the aforementioned shows, with the exception of Gargoyles, which I never really got into (despite the fact that it featured the voices of some ST:TNG cast members).

Not only is the UK getting two Timon and Pumbaa DVDs (Around the World With... and Eating Out With...) but 2 Chip n' Dale DVD Menus have just been pased by the BBFC (presumably these will be Rescue Rangers, but it is possible they could be compilations of 'classic' shorts featuring Chip and Dale)MickeyMousePal wrote:disneychris04 Wrote

Well the only Disney Afternoon show to be on DVD is Goof Troop it's on A Goofy Moive but sadly only one episode.
Also on Spring Time with Roo has two episodes of The Adventures of Winnie the Pooh.
So, I guess we have "high hopes".

I think is was in the Spring Time with Roo DVD that there was tlak about realsing the winnie the pooh episidoes on DVD. Sort of like the VHS that came out baclk in 1996-1997 playtime with Pooh , learning with Pooh. They would start coming out in June or July of this year. Guess you wont have to wait to long for Pooh bear eitherdisneychris04 wrote:I really hope Gargoyles, and also The New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, Ducktales, Chip & Dale: Rescue Rangers, Darkwing Duck and Goof Troop could be released on season sets.
