I don’t need to precious, you told me yourself, remember your kill kids signature, and telling me you didn’t actually MEAN that.

why are you tarring gays with the same brush as to what I actually said in that post? Running out of huffing & puffing so resorting to outright lies again. I said NOTHING about gays in that as any one can see. When a loser can’t win they have to resort to lies which therefore it means nothing, basically, most of your posts.

I never asked you to listen, I extremely rarely listen to yours, I press the mute button. You are allowed to do the same, but I know you don’t have the strength for that.

I have reported this to Luke for you along with your lies, insulting behaviour hate speech & name calling to black pearl amongst others. You try to shout down, lie or intimidate if anyone doesn’t agree with your opinion.
Well, I believe every one is entitled to my opinion too. But because I lurk rather than wasting valuable bandwidth spouting off nothing ALL the time, like you, you even have a problem with that. So what does it take to be allowed on here then, apparently I don’t make the cut according to you, neither did black pearl as
Lazario wrote: So I happen to find it a conflict of interests that you are on this board
Oh I’ve got it. You qualify because of the first 2 Disney DVDs you ever bought recently. By the way another thing you said, you were leaving for a long time. Obviously something else you don’t mean.
Well as I have much stronger self control than you, I don’t need to waste any more time showing you up, you do that without my help. I have called you a whaaaaaa mbulance you may find it helps to stick your thumb back in your mouth & suck while acting & talking like a child, which is why you get treated like one cupcake. Names of affection bother you, yet it is all right for you to ridicule insult & call various naughty names to others. Go figure, toots. I am stronger than you & can go back to lurking without your permission or the need to reply to you for a long time. I bet you can’t refrain which proves I was right about your weakness. Answer, I win, don’t answer, you pop, I win. Not that it is about winning for me, but letting you know, I hear your pain & pity you.
Now, could anyone possibly need this information more than you that I am arming you with, perhaps if you ask Black pearl how to find God……. Bye bye
p.s. sorry for delaying reply, was too busy.

Hypocrite.

waltmad wrote:Names of affection bother you
Only an idiot could mistake your insults for affection. But Luke is smarter than you think. You're not fooling anyone. So, yeah- pretend you're proving anything. If that's what you need to believe.

And since you have eyes, you no doubt noticed that I am not the only person on this board who doesn't appreciate people trying to shove religion down our throats. You deliberately go after me however.

Again, you're a hypocrite. You're not stronger. Just more manipulative. And I can see right through you. You can complain all you want to but no one is going to believe I drive you off this board.

And... whatever explanation you want to cook up for why you even made that perverts / pedophiles remark last year and then refused to answer Julian Carter when he questioned who you aimed the remark at... Don't bother.

Guys...

While the little tiff is interesting, it's not really the topic of the thread.

So, why don't you both sit back, relax, watch a movie and post your thoughts on it if so inclined (that's what the thread is here for,) and just ignore the other one's posts...

Really, life is too short!

Clash of the Titans (Remake)

I...enjoyed it. It'll take a couple more viewings to really decide just how much though. Things I enjoyed the most were Hades, the visual appearance of Olympus and the Medusa fight. As well, I was surprised to see the one actress from Rome playing Queen Cassiopeia. That was pretty cool.

However, what would have been even better imo would be a cameo from Maggie Smith reprising her role from the original. Sad really that they didn't try for that.

One small irk of mine was how they did show the other gods, yet never really took a few moments to put names to faces etc. Unless I missed that? It just seemed odd to me to hire these actors to stand there and not really acknowledge -who- they were playing. To me it was a highlight of the original to see the gods interacting with each other here and there.

Go, Johnny, Go - Mostly just an excuse to showcase various rockstars of the 50s. I can dig it. It was cute. A lot of really crazy coincidences, though, LOL!

Well, I wasn't planning on it, but my family and I went and saw The Kids Are All Right. It was definitely interesting to say the least. A bunch of sex scenes and random porn. Probably not good for younger viewers. I don't think I'll be purchasing it when it comes to Blu-ray/DVD (though there were a few memorable funny moments).

I finally saw Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland last night. When I have time, I might go in that thread and add my 2 cents, but it was just alright. I much, much prefer the animated Disney version.

Hounddog - I was hesitant to watch this because of the Dakota Fanning rape scene, but it wasn't as graphic I was expecting, thank God. The rest of the film was great, especially Fanning's great acting.

Normal Adolescent Behavior: Havoc 2 - It isn't a sequel to "Havoc"... at all, so I don't know why it's called that, but it was still good. It starred Amber Tamblyn, Ricky Ullman (Phil from Phil of the Future!), Hilarie Burton, etc. It's about a group of teens who swap sex partners every week... yeah, haha.

Foxes - I got this mainly to see Cherie Currie in her first movie role. She was actually really great, as was Jodie Foster, and really the whole cast. Recommended!

The Last House on the Left (Remake) - I've not seen the original, yet, but I actually really enjoyed this. Sara Paxton was a great lead, and the parents kicked ass.

Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs
Pinocchio
Fantasia
Dumbo
Bambi

I've been watching these throughout the week. It's sort of a mini-marathon of Walt's films. Up next is Saludos Amigos and The Three Caballeros. After that, however, is Cinderella because I currently do not have the rest of the package features. All of them are special and unique in their own way and I absolutely adore these films. My family just sees them as "cartoons," but I totally disagree and really do think of them as pieces of art. I mean, it was quite inovative to create all of those special effects in Fantasia (well, it especially) and the story telling was simply superb in the all of the films.

LOL. Well, if you really enjoyed it- then the movie didn't do it's job. You're not supposed to enjoy it. I'll tell you one thing, you won't enjoy the original. That's a hard-hitting film with scenes so disturbing, no one can enjoy them unless they're sick in the head. But it's one of the most real horrific films ever made. I'll bet the remake had music on all the violent scenes. Am I right? The original is so disturbing that some cast members won't even talk to each other. The woman who played Mari refuses to talk about the movie. Most of them have agreed to be interviewed by Blue Underground and MGM, but I think only 2 of them have never said publically that they think the film is so disturbing that they made a mistake doing it. All of them think the movie went too far.

Why did they do it then? And Does Wes Craven like it? I've heard there are pretty graphic scenes in relation to the rape part that didn't even make it into the final cut.

No one can know what they're getting into when you do a movie like that.

PeterPanfan wrote:And Does Wes Craven like it?
He's an intellectual. He accepts the praise and the outrage with dignity but has a sense of humor too. When he made the movie, he had a very "I don't give a" attitude. Something like 6 years separates the releases of the two different DVDs. When the first one came out, there was no Saw or Hostel. So, he was very careful to say the right things. The cast were very careful too. No one mentioned that, for example, most of the actors were involved in porn. Craven had no choice because the material was too strong for actors of a more, I guess you'd have to say "uppity" background. The early 70's were so politically volatile, that Jane Fonda even turned down the lead role in The Exorcist because she was so adamently against what she thought were capitalist machinations at the studio. So, actors were giving more reasons for passing than they were for taking roles. Craven had a choice to take talented porn actors (most of whom also had real theater training) or not make the movie. Most directors see more flaws in their movies than the movie's biggest defenders. So, he's just down to Earth enough to not like or dislike it.

On the second DVD, with so much time having passed- people don't regard anything from the 70's as being as shocking as Hostel and especially Hostel: Part II. However... that's because they're not acquainted with the likes of Cannibal Holocaust. With that in mind, Craven felt he had less to apologize for. Eli Roth never had to deal with backlash for violence. Fox News whined about anti-conservative messages and I know the "hardcore" horror crowd are not very happy with the first film because they think it's not violent enough. If anything, now Craven just gets flack for how low budget the film is. It's easy to like remakes over the originals because they look more expensive.

I almost never watch the outtakes / dailies footage on the DVD. For some reason, I don't like extras with no sound. I know there's a lot of extra stuff in the disemboweling scene. I remember watching that on the 2002 DVD.

Seven men from now (1956)

At only 75 minutes, this is one of the shortest films I've ever seen. But then again, not a moment is wasted and there's no unneccesary 'filler' scenes. Which doesn't mean there's no room for character development, because there's plenty of it. The storyline (a former sheriff hunts down the seven men who shot his wife) isn't the most important part about this movie. It's mostly about the way the main characters cope with the situations they find themselves in, and the way they react to each other. This is helped tremendously by the fine acting performances of Randolph Scott, Gail Russell and Lee Marvin. This is a good old-fashioned western I enjoyed very much.

As it is in heaven (2004)

"Not a movie for cynics" was one review I read online. So I nearly skipped on it, but I'm glad I didn't. This is a wonderful Swedish feel-good movie (though it doesn't shun dramatic storylines). Religious people who are easily offended might be cautious to watch it, and people who are even more of a cynic than me will find it too sweet, in the end.

I just came back from seeing The Sorcerer's Apprentice. My friend had free AMC screening passes that she got from work.

I really, really, really liked it. Way more than I was expecting to. It was great. I'll post my thoughts in the appropriate thread, but it was excellent.

For whatever reason, Youtube recommended some weird Tommy Lee Jones Japanese commercial to me, so I felt like watching the first Men in Black...

Cop Out
Not much to say about the film itself. It's not as bad as most critics will have you believe. It has highs, but too many lows, which I guess make it simply average on the whole. And of course, in many ways, an average film is more offensive than a bad film, especially when such a film can sometimes shine.

I'll say this for it though. They sure had a blast making it. Which is fair enough for them. But I didn't have a blast watching it.

How did I know they had a blast making it? Because of the Blu-ray's "Maximum Comedy Mode" (nothing more than a renaming of Warner's usual "Maximum Movie Mode"). It this the best use of <strike>Blu-ray technology</strike> Kevin Smith yet?

Here, in 3 hours, he gives us everything his DVD and Blu-ray releases are famous for; deleted scenes, alternative scenes, outtakes, trivia, hysterical commentary, full of self-depreciation (he even appears in pop-up windows talking over himself talking about the movie!). Unlike some other MMMs there very little downtime, and from the moment you see Kevin Smith standing on the Warner Brothers' logo's band at the start, he totally owns the experience, confidently gesturing from screen to screen, issuing outlandish instructions and more. If I have one complaint about the presentation it's that he's doing most of it flying solo - Smith works best I feel when bouncing off other people's comments.

But yeah, an outstanding extra, which is crammed full of the humour, self-mocking, charisma and enjoyment the actual film lacks.
