DisneyLand Character Auditions

Post by Atlantica »

I hope there can be a topic for this .... I did a search, but I can't seem to find the appropriate thread ... I'm sure Amy made one ???

Anyway, I thought we could share thoughts / tips / and up coming auditions for DisneyLand Parks ?

For people in England, there are audition being held in London on April 30th, for face characters.

I myself am going to one on April 30th in London, and I'm so excited and so nervous as well !!!

I would like to ask, if anyone could help .... It says to wear comfortable clothing; does that mean tracksuits ? Or jeans still ?

Hope this is an ok thread to have mods ? :)

I don't know much at all about face character auditions, but for furry character auditions, you want to wear clothing you can dance in. So, a track suit would be good for that. Definitely search online to see what others have to say, or at least bring a dancing outfit and a nicer outfit, just in case. Good luck, though- that's exciting! Do you think you look most like a certain character?

I don't know anything about this, but good luck on your audition! And like Amy, I curious about which character you might be aiming for! I think it would be fascinating to be a character at a Disney park, actually any job at a Disney park would be fascinating, but the day in the life of a character... Awesome!

Thank you guys for your good luck messages !

Well, I'm just confused as to what to wear really; the audition states 'comfortable clothing' (its a Princess / Wendy / Tink audition) so I thought smart top and jogging bottoms ? With trainers I suppose ? No one seems to have said on other forums what the appropriate attire is ..... I'll be having a very thorough look though, all over the internet !!

Well, I've always been told Wendy ... even one of the cast members in Paris thought I worked there as that character, so guess thats a good sign ? And Disney Duster on here thinks I look like Ariel, so I hope it goes well ! Just so darn nervous now though !

Though it doesnt state it on the audition website, other people have said that, along with your CV, you need a photograph. I dont have one of those, so I'm asking my friend, whos a professional photographer, to take one ! I'm going all out for this !!!! :)

That certainly is a good sign (that a castmember thought you were an employee)!

I hope you're able to find all the information you need before your audition, I'm sure you'll do great, though! :D

Bringing back this thread due to the fact that Disneyland is holding an audition in August for characters and I am definitely going to be there. I've been waiting two years for the chance to audition and now that I finally can, I'm beyond ecstatic. :D

So, is anyone else planning to audition or can give some tips on what to do? :)

Thank you everyone! :D

Atlantica, I'm not quite sure what you mean by "where are you auditioning for." I'm guessing it's either what are you auditioning for or where are you auditioning so I'll answer both :P

I'm auditioning at Disneyland for an atmosphere character. The casting call wasn't specific on what characters they're auditioning for, so I'm just going in hopes they can use me. My dream is to be Belle and nearly everyone tells me that I'd be perfect for the role, but really I'd be happy to play any character!

How about you Atlantica? I know you're auditioning in London, but for what characters? Who are you hoping to be? I'm excited someone else is going to audition too! Best of luck to you :)

Thank you! :)

I can't wait to hear about Atlantica's audition since hers is closer. Mine is still a little less than a month away, but I'm counting down the days haha. That's great she has another chance, though!

Thank you so much for your good luck / condolence messages :)

I was going to come back to the thread and tell you what happened, but I felt too rubbish about it, and couldnt :( But it is wonderful they have another set of auditions so close ! It does make me wonder though, they must be quite desperate for people if they are having so many new audition dates for Paris ? I'm just guessing though, obviously.

Colours, I am soooo excited for you !! If people tell you that you are like Belle in day to day life, which is amazing, just imagine what it would be like when the Disney people see you ?! It will be like their character has come to life in front of them :)

They are basically looking for Princesses, along with Wendy, Tink and Alice. I'm told I look like Wendy, and I certainly sound like her ! So hopefully, fingers crossed, the casting people see that too. I can only hope and dream :)

Best and HUGE luck to you as well !!! You will be amzing, I can feel it :)

Thanks so much Atlantica, I'm very excited for you too! It's always nice to have someone to share the experience with (even if we're in different countries :P )

I think that would be so much fun to be Wendy! I'm sure most people will be going to the auditions hoping to be a princess or something, so you might have the advantage if not many will be there that can portray Wendy :)

I wish Disneyland would have more audition dates like Paris does. I've actually noticed that almost all the other parks except Disneyland have auditions regularly. I've been keeping track of the auditions and so far Disneyland has only had 2 this year, including the one in August I'll be going to (this is just including character performer auditions, though). So if for some reason I don't make this audition, I'll probably have quite a while before another one comes along.

Anyway, best of luck to you Atlantica! :D I'm not sure if you went to the audition today or if you're going to the one on Tuesday, but regardless of that, I'm sure you'll be amazing too!

Sorry I've taken so long guys ... there has been bit of a to-do with the offer of a job at Disney ....

According to 3 different phone calls I've had, they are 'extremely interested' in wanting me to come and audition for a place at Tokyo Disney ... before they will give me a contract for Paris. I dont know what to think about it all ... :? They said they initially, I had a job at Paris, they told me on the day. Then I got rung this week, asking how I would feel about auditioning for Tokyo, at the character auditions in London that are coming up soon. They said they will look again at my place in Paris after I have tried out for the other park. What should I do guys ? Its still an amazing opportunity, but its just so far away, that's why Paris was so amazing, as it was just a train ride away really. Ive gone from total excitement to total confusion !

That's really odd. So, if you say no to Tokyo, you don't have a guaranteed job in Paris? What does it mean they will look at your place in Paris again? I think that if you aren't tied down at the moment (husband, kids, college, babysitting, pets), then it probably would be the experience of a lifetime! I mean, it's TOKYO! The language barrier might make it hard, so honestly, if you're even considering it, you should maybe call Disney back and ask about what it's like for a foreigner to live in Tokyo. Do they have special housing for cast members?

I'd say do some research first, but it sounds incredible. Also, maybe ask them if it'd be a permanent position...I mean, would you potentially be in Tokyo forever, as long as you work there? You could ask them if there is some sort of transition so if you wanted to come back, you could get a job in Paris...?

Congratulatons, though- that's still amazing!
