You know, I'm starting to like the fact that Pixar left Disney. It just leaves them open with so much more room to do whatever they want - which in return becomes an even better product.

The fact that they are gaining a twofold or more in money is an awesome deal which means that either the workers get paid more (which in bussiness is always a good thingg) or they advance their studios. Either way, good stuff will come out of it.

Another point of this shows the brilliance of Pixar. By breaking up with Disney, they can choose whomever they please, and the way that Pixar has been going, any company would LOVE to work with Pixar, even as a distributor (atleast in my eyes).

Well, I think the quote about money and work shows that a Disney/Pixar agreement would never of happened (unless Disney made serious concessions to Pixar, which would, in my opinion only marginise Disney's own animated films).

Word is jabroni76 that most (if not all) of the studios Pixar are approaching for distribution are indeed refusing. I don't know if this is a flat out refusal or simply a negotiating ploy for them to lobby for a small percentage of the profits as well as a distribution fee.

It's been a while now, and if Pixar are after a single studio doing nothing more than distributing their films, then you would expect the decision to be relatively simple. It's not as if the name of the studio really matters - the films are likely to be pushed as "Pixar" films and Pixar want control over their own advertising and promotion, so it won't even have to do that. And no theater is going to refuse to take a Pixar film.

All their distributor has to do is strike the prints, print some posters, perhaps aid Pixar with media tie-ins and send everything out. It seems like a decision could be made quickly.

on that site (if you can stand the horrible designs) you should check out "media buzz"... apparently these people think they are better than Pixar. So with this trainwreck, Shrek2, Incredibles, Polar Express, Sharktale, Ice Age II: The Meltdown, Chicken Little and the countless amount of CGI films I left out that are coming all withing now and next year, I just think this is the early nineties ALL over again.... too many studios jumping on the bandwagon, micromanagement... I can see it all happen again.. only faster this time. So by 2006, 2 years later and 20 CGI disasters later, is Pixars work still unique? sure it is, but will people still care? they stopped caring about Disney for a lot of reasons.. I can just see it all happen again... ok sorry for getting a little off topic...

I am happy to see Pixar free from Disney's management. I hope they will stay free... Disney feature animation has been turned into a toxic environment... I hope other studios have learned from Disney's mistake but when I look at the amount of movies coming... and the speed in wich they are coming... I just hope the audience will choose Pixar over the others to prove quality is what it all is about... Pixar just rocks

Hmm.. This looks really boring. Studio's should have learned from the new Starwars-films-fiasco: losing yourself as a filmmaker in 'creating worlds' doesn't mean that it will result in an interesting movie. If the whole 'wave' of new CGI-animated movies is going to result in productions like this then I predict a slow death for the genre.

What will happen with all the Pixar things at Disneyland?
Disney will go down and Pixar will become better.

Jobs has said that if Eisner leaves Disney that he would like to see Pixar return to Disney.

Jobs will not announce any new deal with any other distributor any sooner than absolutely necessary in order to keep the pressure on Disney to get rid of Eisner.

Pixar still has two more films to go with Disney before they will even need a different distributor. So do not expect any announcements in the near future.

I find it amusing that no one has taken issue with that statement. If it came from the evil Einster or anyone else, everyone would be going on about how greedy they are and all they are thinking about is money. Hmmm...

I don't find it desturbing at all since Pixar are making great movies.

The diffrence between Disney and Pixar is that Pixar can make good movies, and it looks like Disney can't anymore.

I don't mind the fact that Pixar wants what is their right amount of money.
