People don't care about seeing justice being done, they just want to get off on a celebrity's misery. In this case, I think I'm not nearly as disgusted by Lohan's disregard for her probation as I am by the people who think this is going to teach her a lesson at all. That's like saying I'm surprised that another Hollywood twit doesn't care about the law.
She was arrested (prior to being given probation) for drunk driving, right? How is that amusing but a regular drunk person driving isn't?

I can't tell if she was genuine during her defense... I don't think it's in that video, but I watched the actual court hearing and Lindsay got a chance to speak. She made it about 50 or so seconds before breaking down. After she collected herself, she went again and said something like, "I don't take this as a joke, it's my life! I respect you and the Right On program so much."
Most celebs only serve like 20% of their jail-time anyway, so I see her being in there for around 23 days or so.

According to news reports today Lindsay Lohan could have as much as 6 months added to her sentence for contempt of court, when it was found that on her left hand her fingernail had the letters "f*k*u". There were on the third finger of her left hand, and if everything goes according to the reports, she will have contempt of court charges added to her breaking probation charges.

The only way to watch movies - Original Aspect Ratio!!!!

I feel so sorry for her. I'm not defending her, she broke the law, she was given certain options and she completely treated them as a joke. But her life is too entirely hectic and bizarre. Look at her father, he's already made two appearances to media outlets, seems like he doesn't even care how much it hurts Lindsay that he sells her out for publicity every single time she makes a headline. She obviously has a problem and her mother keeps denying it, enabling that kind of behavior. Dina and Lindsay have partied nights before court hearings and rehab meetings. I have always thought that it's not possible for us to judge a celebrity, especially one that has never lived a normal life, we don't know what kind of psychological punches they've taken. They never developed any kind of normalcy. Speaking as a major Britney fan, it's hard to see it happening. Britney has a supportive family (who knows why they're being supportive, if they're exploiting her or not, but she has support) that has lead her out of the dangerous life she leads; and even so, we can tell she is not happy. My point is, Lindsay was a normal little girl, one who we know could have done good things, and now she's in a downwards spiral. She needs help and she needs it now.

That's actually really sad, I met her at the Heathrow airport, and she seemed like a really nice person, but the media just misunderstands her.
I hope they reduce the days.

I don't personally know her, so I don't know if she is a really nice person or not, but even if she is, she drove while intoxicated, and that is a crime, a dangerous one, so she definitely needs to be punished. She's a multiple-time offender, and she needs help. I'm glad that mandatory rehab was given by the judge; I know that she's been to rehab at least 2 or 3 times in the past, but I hope something will get through to her and she can get the help she so clearly needs.Jack Skellington wrote:That's actually really sad, I meet her at the Heathrow airport, and she seemed like a really nice person, but the media just misunderstands her.

I just can't bring myself to feel sorry for her. She has clearly said that she's sober, and such. Though if that were the case, then why is she acting like a five year old in this video. It's clear that she has no idea as to what the consequences are to DUI's, people die from those every single day. In 2007 alone there were more than 15000 reported cases of people dying from drunk drying.
If she was some unknown bald guy with tatoos all over his body, the only responce you'd get is "good riddance". But because she's a semi-celebrity, in the public eye, with people feeling sorry for her because of her parents, life, etc. she should get an Out-of-jail-for-free-card? This isn't some game, and she obviously has no clue as to what she's doing, and why she's there. I say lock her up 'till there's some sense in her. It's obvious that "rehab" didn't work. And being famous =/= acting like idiot.
And where in god's name is her mother. Whenever People magazine or whatnot calls, she's the first to be around, but when there's actually something important, she's never there.

But I do agree that her family life is way dysfunctional.

Well yeah, a big bald guy covered in tattoos that drives drunk is more than likely just as irresponsible as Lindsay, but we saw Lindsay grow up, and we saw how she nice had a promising future. That's a lot feel sorry for her. And it's not like they're going easier on her because she is a celebrity, she was made an example and the 90 days in jail and 90 days in rehab seem a little extreme for missing AA meetings, don't you think? Again, not defending her, she made everything a complete joke.

When I first heard of this the news woman was saying "Tragedy had befell the young starlet Lindsay Lohan in a very Hollywoodesque way..." this was said with sad music plaing in the background. I thought she died and I was so freaked out then they said she was sentenced to jail and I was pretty annoyed they bulit it all up to make it sad and have me think she died and she only was sentenced to jail time.
But yeah I wonder how long she'll make it befroe she pulls a Paris Hilton.
