Let's see, I made a top 10 list for my board a while ago, but left out Nightmare Before Christmas songs. If I had to redo the list alongside songs from the movie, it would look like:

1- "Jack's Lament"
2- "This Is Halloween"
3- "What's This"
4- "Heaven's Light"/'Hellfire"(you can't possibly make me seperate the two)
5- "I Just Can't Wait to Be King"
6- "A Whole New World"
7- "Poor Jack"
8- "Sally's Song"
9- "Let's Go Fly a Kite"
10- "Town Meeting Song"

You can tell what my favorite Disney movie is, can't you? :P

Without Nightmare tunes, my list looks like:

1- "Heaven's Light"/"Hellfire"
2- "I Just Can't Wait to Be King"
3- "A Whole New World"
4- "Let's Go Fly a Kite"
5- "Be Prepared"
6- "Under the Sea"
7- "Something There"
8- "A Spoonful of Sugar"
9- "Heigh-Ho"
10- "Friends on the Other Side"

I'm not nearly as organized as you all.. But here's a few of mine...

Chim Chim Cheree
Bare Necessities
When You Wish Upon A Star
Cruella DeVille
Colors Of The Wind
Be Our Guest

One of my projects this year to is to produce a live concert with singer/songwriters interpreting Disney songs mixed with some of their own material that was influenced by it. Going to try it in a few venues then pitch it to the Family museum in San Francisco.

Why don't some people on this thread just say "all Disney songs" and be done with it? I mean, how do I know what your favorites are if you post a 100 of them?

Anyway, my favorites (and this shouldn't surprise frequent members) are all from The Rescuers: 'The journey', 'Tomorrow is another day' and 'Someone is waiting for you'. Each of them strike me right in the heart. Shelby Flint did an amazing job and I think she doesn't get enough credit for it nowadays (though 'Someone is waiting for you' was nominated for an Academy Award).

I'm also a fan of the music from Hunchback of the Notre Dame (very underrated film and music, in my opinion) and, of course, Mary Poppins. Of course there's many more songs I like, but those are my absolute favorites.

Edit: 'You've got a friend in me' also holds a special place in my heart.

Second edit: for typo's.

My Top Ten, first posted this March-
UmbrellaFish wrote:1. Feed the Birds- Incredibly beautiful song, lyric and music wise. I also rank this and "Edelweiss" as my favorite songs by Julie Andrews.

2. Part of Your World- With some of the best animation in the whole film, I think what really holds "Part of Your World" up is Jodi Benson's beautiful voice.

3. Under the Sea- My favorite of the "let's have a big number right now!" type songs. The imagery is a ton of fun and what can I say, Sebastian is one of my favorite Disney characters.

4. A Spoonful of Sugar- Everytime I think of Mary Poppins, I think of this sequence. It's a delightful introduction to the magical nanny, herself, and once again, you just can't beat Julie's vocals.

5. Beauty and the Beast- I think what draws me to this song is more of the music and the lyrics themselves, rather than Angela Lansbury. I've recently had to listen to this song, dozens and dozens of times, but it never gets old if you focus on the words and music. There, it's just brilliant.

6. Be Our Guest- This song is a tad bit "funner" to see, than to hear in my opinion. Like "Under the Sea", it's really the imagery and the music (not to forget the clever lyrics) that gives this song its flair.

7. Hellfire- I stand by my belief that "Hellfire" is the greatest Disney villian song there is. It's pure, crazy evil.

8. Ma Belle Evangeline- I loved this song when I first saw The Princess and the Frog, because when you have a hillbilly-type lightning bug, serenading the protagonist frogs, with a beautiful song about his love, Evangeline... I just think it's lovely, and I was captivated by the whole sequence. I think this is one time where Randy Newman's score actually shined very brightly.

9. The Second Star to the Right- One of those songs that gets stuck in your head and never leaves. It's very peaceful, and simple, sort of like a lullaby.

10. Ev'rybody Wants to be a Cat- Fun song to sing or watch! I'm also in an Aristocats sort of mood, anyway, but whatever, I like this song.
I still stand by that list, although number ten is pretty interchangable with various other Disney songs.

 But there are HUNDREDS more, if not THOUSANDS more Disney songs out there! I just counted (well, Microsoft Word did :p) my list, and I listed 103 songs. But, there are only 21 songs in my absolute favorite section of the list, and 21 absolute favorite songs isn't bad at all... :p

For me, some of these songs hold a lot of meaning for me lyrically (such as a song like "Belle (Reprise)", some just are in my head all the time (such as "Happy Working Song"), and some I think are just kind of perfect (I think that "Little Patch of Heaven" is pretty perfect- k.d. lang's voice is incredible, and the music is really fun...just a great match.)...
