Disneyland DVDs: Where are the commercials?
Why aren't there any commercials on the Disneyland DVD's. It would be interesting to see the commercials from 50 years ago. Also the shows are an hour without the commercials, was the show editied to make room for the commercials?
Strange you should mention it, but yes, there were commercials during the opening day broadcast for Disneyland, including for Swift meat products and for the Nash Wrangler, both proud sponsers of Disneyland. They are not on the DVD but as a CM at Disneyland, I have seen them on the Cast TV broadcasts this week. Guess like so many things, it's just an issue with rights. Remember, the Mousketeers are edited out of the Disneyland USA Treasure as well.

Well, it would be more worth it to Disney to pay for their appearances on a MMC set, than brief appearances on a set that really didn't focus on them. They can be easily edited out of one, whereas they are the entire subject of another.

Commericals would be fun to put things into context, but I would imagine the legal/rights issues would be too much to deal with from a production end.
