I wouldn't say it's the "fave" movie. I'd give that honor to "Manos: Hands of Fate" or "Monster a-Go Go". It's a bad cheesey "Gremlins" rip-off, but not nearly as bad as some of the other movies they've done ("Overdrawn at the Memory Bank" is IMO the best-worst SciFi era film they did).

But that scene in Club Filth or Scum or whatever it was with the band is so excruciatingly painful. "Pig Sticker", or whatever the song is. My friend said she wants to find that band and have them play their classic song at her wedding.

I don't know, I think they've done worse ones than "Overdrawn at the Memory Bank." Like "Timechasers," if that was the title, and also the one about the rebellion in space where the guys battle on these golf carts in the bowels of the ship. I know some people who actually rather liked Overdrawn at the Memory Bank, ha.

As for Hobgoblins, it's pretty awful, but it's a great episode of MST3K. I'm afraid I've seen very few Joel episodes, but some other personal favorite MST's of mine are (and I hope I get these titles right) "Merlin's Shop of Mystical Wonders," "Touch of Satan," and "The Pumaman," to name a few.

I love all the movies from the "little creatures" subgenre of horror that I've seen. But this is and Critters 3 and 4 are pretty much the only ones I haven't seen yet (oh, and Ghoulies 3 and 4). Except I think I did catch parts of it on MST3K(?). Looks cool, either way.

I agree that Hobgoblins is funny as an episode of MST3K.

As a standalone movie, I don't think it would be nowhere near as enjoyable.

I agree too. I love the MST3K episode. But, as the movie itself, I don't like it at all.

Like everyone had said, Hobgoblins is a hilarious MST3K episode, but a terrible, terrible, TERRIBLE stand alone movie. Like the episode points out, some of its logic is messed up. I mean, how could an average guy battle against a MILITARY TRAINED guy? And why did the girlfriend get upset? Also, the movie is rather sexist since the girls are either sex starved or secretly desiring to be prostitutes.

My favorite MST3K episodes would be "Girl in the Gold Boots", "The Wild Wild Wild World of Batwoman" (seriously, this movie had me literally rolling on the floor laughing my head off due to how stupid it was), "Manos: The Hands of Fate", "Bogey" (I forgot the full name of this one, but it's the one about the Big Foot like creature) and "Overdrawn at the Memory Bank".

"TO WENDY'S!"

I love MST3K's episode of Overdrawn at the Memory Bank. I think it's perhaps in my top fave episodes of theirs, along with Merlin's Mystical Shop Of Wonders. :p Mitchell is another hilariously horrible one, and should be a crime for the total waste of film great Martin Balsam.
