I know. What a shame... Cause If Paraguay won all way to championship and win this would of happen:Goliath wrote:Spain won 1-0 from Paraguay. Now only Uruguay is defending Latin-America's pride. Until next Tuesday, of course, when we kick their asses.
Larissa Riquelme Says She Will Run Naked If Paraguay Wins World Cup
Paraguay's success at the World Cup continued on Tuesday, with the country's soccer team beating Japan on penalty kicks to advance to the tournament's quarterfinals. Now, with only eight teams remaining, the Paraguayans may have a few more fans to help win it all.
Larissa Riquelme, a curvy lingerie model who loves her national team, has been cheering the Paraguay squad on from Asuncion, clad in revealing outfits. The 24-year-old beauty has pledged to run naked through the streets "with my body painted with the colors of Paraguay" if Paraguay wins the World Cup.
The gorgeous football fanatic is not the first person to promise to streak in the event of a World Cup win. Argentina's coach Diego Maradona was the first prominent person to issue such a guarantee, and his team has also made the quarterfinals. Scroll down for pictures of Riquelme cheering her team on. Are you rooting for Paraguay now?

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
The Netherlands have made it to the finale!
We defeated Uruguay 3-2!
It could have been 3-0, if not for the mistake our goalie made when he didn't saw the first goal from Uruguay coming, and if the referee had not let the teams play way past the end time.
But all in all, we're happy to have made it to the finale, for the 3rd time in history.

I'm sure this will make the loss a lot more bearable to the Argentinian people.Super Aurora wrote:Larissa Riquelme [...] has pledged to run naked through the streets "with my body painted with the colors of Paraguay" if Paraguay wins the World Cup. Sunday it will be The Netherlands vs. Spain in the 2010 World Cup Finals. Spain just knocked off Germany 1-0, so that means we will have a new defending champion in the World Cup.
Spain broke Germany's streak of World Cup Finals at Seven.

I'm crossing my fingers for the Oranjes now and hope to see you guys winning the Cup.^^
This is funny: two Algerian supporters and a vuvuzela:
<object width="640" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube-nocookie.com/v/IecaO ... ram><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube-nocookie.com/v/IecaO ... en_US&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="640" height="385"></embed></object>
And today in the news: a Dutchman was fired for sawing his colleague's vuvuzela in half. He just couldn't take the noise anymore. A few weeks ago in Germany, a man was arrested because he had stormed in his neighbour's house with an axe. He had gotten mad because his neighbour had been blowing his vuvuzela constantly since the beginning of the World Cup.

Psychic Octopus Received Death Threats

Football is serious fucking business.
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2010/0..._n_639160.htmlThe psychic octopus known for his amazingly accurate World Cup predictions has received death threats, the Telegraph reports. Paul, the oracle octopus whose prescient premonitions perfectly predicted the outcome of all six German World Cup games, first generated anger from Argentinian fans who believe his percipient pick doomed Argentina in the quarterfinals.
Paul's keeper in Oberhausen, Germany said "there are always people who want to eat our octopus but he is not shy and we are here to protect him as well. He will survive."
Paul's powers reached a new level on Wednesday, when his bold pick against his current home country proved correct, bringing his World Cup record to a jaw-dropping six for six.
The beautiful and brilliant octopus accurately predicted all four of Germany's victories, as well as their upset loss to Serbia and semifinals defeat at the hands of Spain.

Germans should not be mad because Paul the Octopus was dead on accurate in his predictions.Super Aurora wrote:Psychic Octopus Received Death Threats

On one hand, I'm sad that Germany lost. On the other, it's kind of cool because now no matter who win, a country that has never won the Cup will win it finally. I want to say the Dutch, but I'm thinking it will be Spain. We'll see.

??????????? Don't pay attention to the poster before me; he's still in a state of denial, I guess.
I can't believe The Netherlands lost! In advance, I was so sure we would win. This was the first time I was finally certain we would win --before, I always doubted that we could pull it off. And now, the finale... and we blew it. We didn't deserve to win. We didn't play well. There was lots of foul play going on. And although the Dutch like to blame the referee now, who, indeed, made at least one serious mistake, it's obvious that Spain was the better team.
