True, they're not exactly the same, but I don't think it's anything to get too upset about. Just keep the regular VHS.
I don't own the regular VHS or anything, but I'm still not upset about it.

That's true Maerj, but in all honesty, we won't be getting the "original" theatrical version anyway, wasn't it announce that 40% of the animation was altered for the I-Max transfer, which we ARE getting despite the fact that it never saw I-Max screens!Maerj wrote:He says that because when they do add something new, we don't get the original version of the film. They lied about it with Lion King and Beauty and the Beast, 2 classics that DO NOT contain the original theatrical versions on DVD. If they would honestly put the original versions out in addition to the new versions, I don't think anyone would really mind.Sekaino Jasmine wrote:I've seen this movie so many times that I would like to see something new put in, and since the original version will also be there, it doesn't bother me in the slightest.
And why did you say "We do not?" I'm sure that there are lots of people that would like to see something new. Maybe not on this forum, but still lots of people.

Are they prepping The Little Mermaid for an Imax release? I haven't heard that. I knew that they prepped Aladdin for an Imax release, but never distributed it or released it anywhere (which I'm also upset about). Another problem with included segments is the problem with branching the dvds. If you watch the movie there is a slight pause in the branching between the original and special editions (oy ve
)
p.s. Sorry for using "we" to liberally on the site. Most people that I talk with are kind of turned off by Disney reworking their films and tampering with cinema history. "I" for one would like to see it stopped........but that's another 'General Discussion' thread

I have the soundtrack!!! It should be included on the Aladdin DVD.
" A Whole New World" is my favorite Disney song ever.
I really love " A Whole New World" sung by Peabo Bryson and Regina Bell verison very, very much.I think the DVD should include Peabo Bryson and Regina Bell's "A Whole New World", considering it was made at the time of the actual release. As much as I can't stand that song, I'd rather see it than a Clay Aitken (sp?) video.

anyways, Disney is not doing Imax releases anymore since Lion King and Beauty and the Beast flopped at Imax. However it would be no surprised if all of the future releases had reanimated sequences or whatnot (grr...)
Well, being as Disney didn't do "proper" branching, but placed the branching point at a layer change, you would have a pause somewhere in the film anyway, as it would still need a layer change.If you watch the movie there is a slight pause in the branching between the original and special editions
Most of my Blu-ray collection some of my UK discs aren't on their database
This topic made me nostalgiac, so I'm currently listening to the Original Score of Aladdin. I like many of the removed songs better than the ones they ended up using. Babkak, Omar, Aladdin, Kasim and High Adventure are other great ones.
Proud of Your Boy is a great song. Those who haven't heard are really going to like it. Assuming Clay does a decent job but I'll assume he does, since he seems to be popular.

I like the song well enough, just not the cover. I really don't like Regina Bell. Peabo Bryson, on the other hand, did a really good job with "Beauty and the Beast" and "As Long as there's Christmas".MickeyMousePal wrote:Prince Adam Wrote

Well, I wouldn't say that they are all better than what was chosen, they are just very close. Oh, how I wish that Babkak, Omar, Aladdin, Kassim could be in the movie! Such a great song. I know that it wouldn't work with the movie now, though...Eeyore wrote:This topic made me nostalgiac, so I'm currently listening to the Original Score of Aladdin. I assume that Clay will do a good job, I don't see how he could do a bad job. The only thing that bothers me about Clay doing is that he may make it sound more...what do you call it? More, 'Pop star-ish'.
