Have made the decision to pass on this movie in the theater, and go see "Toy Story 3" again, and then see "Salt", which looks to be very good.

Ahhhhhhhhhh! Please know your Disney movies. And Disney has proved us wrong when judged off trailers alone before....think Beverly Hills Chihuahua. The quality of that movie WAY surpassed opinions drawn from the trailers.

Why is this being called a "remake"? It has never been done in live-action before, and I think that has a lot of people puzzled as to 'what is it a remake of'?

This is only one segment of the animated classic "Fantasia", and Mickey is not even in the new version of the film.

This is not a remake, but more a re-imagining of that piece of classic Disney animation.

The fact that this movie has Nicolas Cage in it sets it back about 5 million points in my book. What was the last really good movie he ever made? He screwed up "The Wicker Man", made a mockery out of "Gone In 60 Seconds" (both remakes of classic films by the way) and "Knowing" was just terrible because of him. As said before, I think I will wait until it comes to cable television or even On Demand before I watch this. With the prices at movie theaters today, it won't even be worth a matinee price.

Kick-Ass was his last good one, which came out...about two months ago.

To each his own, but I thought "Kick Ass" was a terrible movie, from the name right down to the storyline, and the acting. Cage was good in it, but everything else about that movie made it very forgettable. Sorry I can't agree with you on that one.

That would probably be Adaptation in 2002.

I don't like Cage either but I'm willing to give the movie a chance since it looks quite interesting judging from the trailers. Besides, it could have been much worse casting-wise; they could have gone with Shia LaBeouf! :P  :D

Not the Nicolas Cage remake. The original was the classic. The Cage version was like his horrible rehash of "Gone in 60 Seconds", just terrible.

I agree with "Adaptation" being the last of the Cage movies that are worth a second look.

I've always thought he was good in the National Treasure movies. Those did great for Disney. I won't see this in theaters, simply because my budget doesn't allow for it right now, but def will buy it on Blu-ray when it comes out to add to my collection. I think the idea behind it is unique and will give it a full chance.

Hey there Disney fans! I'm here on behalf of the studio talking about our upcoming movies, Sorcerer's Apprentice included! Reading your thoughts on the film (and the Nic Cage debate) has been interesting. The movie is kind of like a re-imagination of the Fantasia sequence...it was most definitely an inspiration for the movie, and the filmmakers did pay homage to it. It's also very action-oriented, but with the National Treasure team behind it, that shouldn't be too surprising, right? :)

Thank you, blackcauldron85 for sharing all the links to our film clips and premiere! The film releases on Wednesday. Is there anyone on here that's planning to check it out in theaters?

I, so very unfortunately, will be in New York when this premiers and won't have time to actually see it next week. Instead I'll be seeing The Phantom of the Opera and touring the NYC. But I did promise my friend that I would see it when I got back, so I'm definitely looking forward to it. Seeing as Fantasia is my favorite Disney film, I'm very happy that the actual Dukas/Disney sequence of the film is going to appear in the film.
