I just finished the Angels trilogy by Lurlene McDaniel. It was very good, and very thought provoking, especially the ending.

Son of a Witch by Gregory Maguire.

On page 300! I just adore Maguire's writing style! After this I'll read "A Lion Among Men".

Just finished the autobiography of June Foray. It was a wonderfully entertaining read and made me miss more of the fact that professional voice talent is so absent in a lot of big animated films today.

I finished up Eoin Colfer's stuff with Airman, which was pretty interesting, and then I've been reading the original Star Trek books from Bantam (back in the 70s and 80s.)

I read the oriignal episodes adapted by James Blish, and 8 of the novels so far 0(by various authors.) I have another 6 to go (I'm missing Vulcan! and Mudd's Enterprise,) after that I'll start with the Pocket Books series. When I run out of those, I'll switch to the Next Generation books, followed by Deep Space Nine, Voyager, and any mini-series I have that deal with multiple shows.

Don't. A Lion Among Men is the most boring book I have ever come across in my life and does virtually nothing to expand the story set in motion in Wicked and Son of a Witch (both of which I adore).

Really? That's upsetting. You see, I knew the whole plots of both Wicked and Son of a Witch by the time I read them, but I figured I would try and stay spoiler-free for "Lion"... Very dismayed to hear it's not that good.

But I will read it, though, to judge for myself. If it really isn't good perhaps the next book will be better (I've heard it's about Glinda!).

I loved Wicked, and only read some of Son of a Witch. I just can't get into it. Does it get better?

I am reading the best book ever right now. It's called Beyond the Garage and is the autobiography of Sean Bonniwell of The Music Machine, a hard-rockin' punk band of the sixties.

With all the things that this man has gone through, and sadly I was one of the irresponsible people who led him astray and caused one of his accidents, and it is supported in the book, it a wonder he is still alive today. But alive he is and at the ripe old age of 70 he is still rocking, he has a couple member of the original Music Machine with him and they have toured Europe in 2007.

Want to read what Sex, Drugs and Rock and Roll DON'T have in common, then you should read this book. It is marvelous.

I loved Wicked, and only read some of Son of a Witch. I just can't get into it. Does it get better?

The ending (and everything leading up to the ending) is great. I admit the middle is slow, I didn't care for the chapters about Liir immediately after Elphaba's death and his early years in the military. After that point, though the whole story picked up for me. That is also the point where the story begins to connect itself back to the start of the book beginning at the mauntery.

I read Batman: The Killing Joke yesterday afternoon. I thought it was dark and well told and the images were great to look at(Even though I do not read that many comics).

I recently started Jhumpa Lahiri's Unaccustomed Earth and I like it so far. After reading The Namesake, also by Lahiri, I thought it would be cool to read the next novel she wrote. Even though it's a collection of stories, I love the way she writes and how she brings so much warmth into her writing. I can't wait to finish it and I hope she comes out with another novel/collection soon.

I finished The Lucky One by Nicholas Sparks a couple days ago. I loved it, just like I do all of his novels. Right now I'm reading The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner by Stephenie Meyer. Love it.

I read Frank Miller's Batman Year One a few days ago. Even though it was a tad boring in some parts, I thought it was another great Batman graphic novel.

I finished Unaccustomed Earth yesterday and I really enjoyed it. I think I could read Jhumpa Lahiri all day if I could (except I've already read two of her novels so I only have her original collection of stories left to read). Next, I have started my fourth attempt of reading Wicked. I know, but I just couldn't get passed the 3rd section. Hopefully, this time I'll actually finish it because I would like to compare the novel to the play (which I've already seen).

I just got a copy of Thea von Harbou's classic Sci-Fi novel Metropolis. Finally! I wonder how similar it will be to the movie, considering that the author herself actually wrote the screenplay, and was married to the director on top of it. But I have to finish Howards End first. I just picked it up because it looked like something to take up time on a train, but it's surprisingly good. I'm rather enjoying it.

Well, I made it to the fourth section of Wicked! (I'm very proud of myself )! Anyway, yesterday I picked up Oscar Wilde's The Picture of Dorian Gray. It's one of my favorites of all time and after seeing the 2009 film I want to compare them (I haven't read it since I was a freshman in high school, so about 4 years). Hopefully it's as good as I remember (which I think it will be).

I finished Wicked on Saturday night, and I must say that I rather enjoyed it. The novel did kind of drag on after awhile, but what was written was written well and I liked what I read. I give props in the re-imagining of the Wicked Witch of the West/Elphaba. I was really disappointed that the musical and novel didn't line up, like, at all. I saw the play first and I always liked the music and the story was just so-so. When I started reading the novel (well, the parts where the girls went to Shiz and so forth), I kind of expected the novel to be just as the play was. However, it wasn't even close. So, now I'm just treating them as different mediums (which they are) as they are too different to really even have the same story basis. They were both excellent in their own rights. I started The Picture of Dorian Gray and it's a bit different than what I remembered from four years ago. I just didn't get into it for some reason. So, I'm postponing that and I'm reading Son of a Witch (Wicked's sequel) and continue the series. I like Son of a Witch so far (even though I'm only 60-odd pages in). I like the vibe of the story and how Liir's journey is about to begin.
