Does anyone wonder if this will lead to Disney finally releasing Many Adven. of Winnie the Pooh (1988 TV series) in season sets finally? I was going to start a new topic but figured this was pretty much along the same line of thinking...

Given Disney's track record- that's not happening. But I believe some episodes were included on those "My Friends Tigger and Pooh" sets and I don't think it would be too huge of a stretch to assume that an episode or two might be included as a bonus feature on next year's movie's DVD or BD release.

I concur! And didn't I suggest that name before? I love it!

EDIT: Well, if I suggested it, it wasn't in this thread... Hmm, oh well, that IS the title I've been hoping for all along, anyway!

That's exactly the title I've been hoping for, though I oddly never mentioned it in this thread, either. It just makes so much sense to title it that way since it's a direct sequel to Many Adventures. I think this almost guarantees a Blu-ray release of the original since it'd be odd to have a sequel go HD and not the original (Alice in Wonderland notwithstanding since that's a different case).

I'm just wondering how they're going to approach this since the final scene of Many Adventures is pretty dang concluding. Are they going to replicate it at the end of this one so that the film acts as a sort of midquel (taking place after the original three segments, but before the ending)? Hmmm...

I've read the interview in question and I highly doubt they were talking about the title of the film. They were just saying that the new hand-drawn movie will be about the new adventures of Winnie (perhaps even suggesting that the structure of the film will be smilar to the original's)

I don't know... if that's all they were meaning to say, I don't think they would have chosen the word "further." I think they're referring to the name.

Disney’s going Back to the Future with Winnie the Pooh
http://jimhillmedia.com/blogs/jim_hill/ ... -pooh.aspx

Jim Hill says that the film will just be called Winnie the Pooh, but I don't know if he got his info from the DHS animation building poster (where it does just say Winnie the Pooh), or from elsewhere...?

Is that picture of Pooh, Eeyore, and Owl new? I've never seen it before. If it is, it looks amazingly vintage. If I didn't know better, I'd swear it was from the early 80s (I'm getting a "Day for Eeyore" vibe from it).

I still don't think it's just going to be called Winnie the Pooh. For Star Trek it made sense because they were rebooting the franchise and starting from scratch. With Pooh, this is a direct sequel to the original. It can only be considered a reboot in the sense that it's ignoring the stuff in between the original and now. So I'd look at this more as Superman Returns than anything.

I read on Jim hill that two episodes in the movie will come from the first original Pooh book, being Chapter IV (In Which Eeyore Loses a Tail and Pooh Finds One) and Chapter VIII (In Which Christopher Robin Leads an Expotition to the North Pole).

I've also found two brandnew animation drawings of Eeyore by supervising animator Randy Haycock which are being auctioned off at Pres-Aid to raise money for treatment of animator Pres Romanillos who is battling leukemia, more info about that here:

Disneykid - it says copyright 2010 and has the logo from WDAS' site - I'd say it's either a still or concept art...

"In Which Eeyore Turns To Cocaine And Loses Control Of His Life"

... Disney is finally making an animated movie with mature themes.
