Saw Prince of Persia at the cinema on May 19, and I am very impressed! The movie was awesome. Epic, cool, romantic and funny. Great action. The chemistry between Jake and Gemma was also great. Bring on the Blu-ray release and the sequels!

Oh wow! That is wonderful news. I have been excitedly waiting for this film for months, but it always nice to hear a positive review from a fellow peer. Thanks for the share! I can't wait to check it out next week.

I doubt the movie's gonna make enough money for sequels, unfortunately. I may rent on BD/DVD, because there's a lot more that I want to spend money on.

I just came from the cinema, and I enjoyed the movie. A lot.

The movie was funny, romantic, actiony and looked absolutely beautiful. The setdesign ws beautiful!

Haven't played the game properly, but from what I heard it follows some plot points from the first game, but alters a lot of details, and adds some things from the second and third game. So...yeah.

Although the story wasn't as good as PiratesOTC, it was really epic and I loved the actors in it. They did a really good job, especially Jake. I didn't expect him to be able to play an 'actionhero' but he nailed it! Really convincing. And Gemma is one of the most beautiful girls I've ever seen, and she can really act!

The dialogue wasn't the best thing about the movie, but it didn't really bother me.

The only thing I think some people won't like, is the ending. Not gonna spoil anything, but some of my friends didn't really like it. I did, however.

Anyway, here is someone waiting for the sequel(s)!

the ending was the best thing about the film.

It was the cheesy dialogue and overall blandness that got in the way for me. It could have been better. Instead, it's just okay. No way will this be successful enough to spin off some sequels.

Saw this on Friday and it was amazing. (really surprised UK got this and Iron Man 2 first but not complaining, makes a nice change)

The ending should come as no surprise to anyone who's played the game (I just wish they'd used his monologue from the game, there was a perfect opening for it).

Not as good as the original POTC but much better than DMC and AWE. The actors all played their roles brilliantly, Jake especially must have done a LOT of work considering he did a most (all?) of the free running scenes!

It should easily get at least 1 sequel. Probably tied with Princess and the Frog for the best movie I've seen this year. Far better than Clash of the Titans or Iron Man 2.

Are you kidding me? Three people in a row saw it below (above) and praised it! I am sure this is going to be a franchise in the making!

Well to be fair, if you look at the history of games-turned-movies, it doesn't look very good. Even for the ones that got good to semi-good reviews. And seeing how this has a 200 million pricetag (excluding marketing), and a half rotten status on Rotten Tomatoes, I'm a little pessimistic myself. Though I haven't actually seen it myself, I'll just wait for the blu-ray.

To be fair you can't put this in the same category as Super Mario Bros., Street Fighter or Tomb Raider. This is actually good

It was never going to be a critical masterpiece, but then neither was Pirates of the Caribbean (though you could argue the first one came close). It's just a really good fun film. It's not perfect, but it's certainly well above average when compared with the standard summer blockbuster type film and well worth seeing on the big screen.

It should certainly cover it's price tag easily enough.

I wanted to point out an issue that's been bothering me.

A lot of people have been talking about the movie's racial issues. As in, why did they cast a white actor to play a persian character? People are making a huge deal over this.

The problem is... This is how the Prince has been portrayed as FOR YEARS. In Sands of Time (which is the game the movie is based off of) he was very white and talked with an English accent.

My issue is that no one noticed it when it was a videogame, but make a big stink over it when its a movie. Not saying that this isn't a biggie, but that its an issue no matter the medium.

Honestly, Ill just wait until either the BD or I play the game. The most recent PoP game was not doing it for me.

I have my mind on IM2, the Last Airbender, Toy Story 3, and Shrek Finally Goes Forever Fourth.

I don't know how a "white race" (where I live people are never divided into races) is catagorized, but Persians are actually an Indo-German people like the British. Farsi (Persian language) has even some obvious similarities with the English language. Here a few examples:

madær (mother)
bradær (brother)
dokhtær (daughter)
ne (no)
nam (name)
mush (mouse)
æbru (eyebrow)
bæd (bad)

How does the most recent Prince of Persia-game (unrelated to the movie) affect your desire to see this new filmversion of an earlier game? I am just curious...

I agree! I saw it yesterday in the NYC AMC! I was invited by The Disney Movie Rewards! I had a blast with my niece. She enjoyed it too! They also had a section reserved for the press to come and rate the film! I was on the list! :D

The line was CRAZY long! It looked about easy 1,000 people and I didn't have to wait on that line beacuse I was on the list and I was reserved a spot! :D

I felt bad because all those people waited about 2 hours for nothing.

I went and saw this movie earlier today and thought it was really good.

Although some people are saying that because of the game adapted movie history, that the future of this movie isn't too optimistic, but I think this movie is going to be different. (not sure if that sounds right) The movie, like a lot of people are saying looks epic. Also the game itself is probably not as well known as say Tomb Raider, so if for some reason there is a stigma there, it may have less affect (if it exists).

No connection really. I just got bored of that particular game pretty quickly.

I agree. I can definitely see a franchise being made out of this series and then the game gaining more popularity. I see the move tomorrow afternoon! Can't wait!
