Until Iger or any other former weatherman-turned-CEO actually CREATES something from scratch, much less builds a studio, the least he or she can do is to acknowledge that the studios they run weren't built in a day, nor were they built by Hannah Montana or the Jonas Brothers, as popular as they may be today. They only have jobs at Disney because of the vision and creation of people like Walt Disney, his brother, and the people they selected to help them with their creations.

Other than the rumored "Fantasia" (is that happening?) are any of Walt Disney's films of any kind scheduled to be released for the rest of 2010 (8 more months to go)? Seems like a couple of "Walt Disney Treasures" or DMC exclusives are needed to fill that wide gap.

That would be nice if they'd do it, but it seems like it's been about a year since they've put any in stores that I'm aware of ("Story of Robin Hood," "Treasure of Matecumbe," "Yellowstone Cubs" last summer was it?) -- They really should get DMC exclusives "The Monkey's Uncle," "So Dear to My Heart," "Kidnapped," "The Incredible Journey," "Superdad" and "Moon Pilot" etc. into stores at least so the general public and non-members have an option to buy.

I met a key executive of Best Buy at a reception a few years ago and thanked him for keeping the Walt Disney era live-action films on the shelves. He was quite receptive to the praise.

The next batch of exclusives to be considered for DMC or otherwise should include "Escapade in Florence," "The Horsemasters," "The Prince and the Pauper," "Sammy the Way-Out Seal," "The Sign of Zorro," "The Light in the Forest" and "The Sword and the Rose" at least - - AND how about doubling up TV hours from the anthology ("An Adventure in Color," "Carnival Time," "Music for Everybody," "Ranger of Brownstone," "A Ranger's Guide to Nature," "It's Tough to be a Bird," "Dad, Can I Borrow the Car?," "From All of Us to All of You," etc. etc.) if we aren't going to get any Ludwig, Ranger or anthology sets soon.

Anyway, I'll believe it when I see it.

To start with, let's try to keep this thread at the top until a new Treasures wave is announced - - no matter how long that takes.

I think it's safe to say that option is doing very little for the "campaign" beyond being a frustration for members to see this topic always on the first page with nothing new in terms of actual news about the Treasures. It's very disheartening to check on this thread only to find it's the same two or three people posting the same-old same-old, because nothing ever HAPPENS in it beyond "here's a list of material they should release" re-written and re-worded every so often. I've heard of squeakiest wheels getting the grease, but this thread has become rather a joke now (IMO). Bumping this up every couple days will likely do very little unless Bob Iger himself is a regular forum lurker and we don't know it. And even then, he'd see that it's the same few people chatting without any real "update" or plan of action. Sure, addresses and names of executives are posted, but based on the posts, nothing seems to be done with them, most feel letter-writing isn't effective (even though it's much more effective than online petitions, e-mails, and near-useless thread-bumping). Letter writing isn't effective? "Star Trek" and "Quantum Leap" seem to disagree.

But, I will give you this, one, both of those letter writing campaigns were in the old days when studios actually cared what consumers thought. Two, they both were fully organized and finally both had more then just a few fans behind it.

I've posted address because I'm sick of people complaining online and not really doing anything (I see this a lot). However, as much as I want to save the Treasures line and it makes me mad that they would stop releasing stuff like this but keep releasing Disney Channel teeny bopper crap (HSM, HM, JB), I kind of have a full plate in my personal life that take more precedence, plus I'm already working on letter campaigns for other stuff.

Now if one of the other fans who don't want to see this series die wanted to take charge and get things going, I'd join up in a second. But running it myself? Can't do it, not now anyway.
