While I'm not in love with either cover art, I do prefer the blu art more.

I do like that Gaston is on the cover for the DVD though!

I've always lived with the "Walt Disney Pictures Presents" and "Walt Disney's" logos, so this change seems pretty drastic and unnecessary (sort of like my attitude on the situation), but I digress. I don't mind the "Disney" logo being on recent Disney films like Princess and the Frog, but for credibility and consistency's sake, I prefer the old logos.
I agree. I think they should have the Disney logo on the cover look like how it does in the film itself. Or at the very least, the original promotional material.

That said, I think I'm the rare few who doesn't care how a cover art looks, since I just see the spine once I put said DVD/Blu-Ray in the shelf.

That cover is awful!

It's really obvious they're marketing this movie as a princess movie for girls. Belle is at the top, and really BIG, while the beast is at the bottom, and looks smaller than Belle.

I do like that Gaston is on the cover though.

Anyway, I'll be sticking to my my old Dutch PE, which has the beautiful french cover:

Plus, it's a digipack. I LOOOVE digipacks... :D

Well, maybe that's a smart move to market the dvd only release as such. I mean, the majority of people who will be buying that release will probably be mothers for the their little girls, who care nothing about anything besides the fact that theres a princess in it.

And I REALLLLLLY hope there's a steelbook release for this, and that they use that Dutch cover. GORGEOUS.

Well, (in my opinion) once again, the 2-Disc DVD gets better artwork than the Blu-ray. I guess Disney has to give DVD buyers something...
Anyone else think Gaston kinda looks like Christopher Reeve?

Looking at it again, I prefere the Blu-Ray. I think the DVD looks good, but the Blu overall looks better...

Attack of the floating head - volume 02.

I don't know which demographic Disney is trying to reach with this cover, but visually impaired would be my first guess.

... and Belle looks like she had a nosejob, or two.

Maybe they should combine the Blu-ray cover with the DVD?

I'm lovin' it, already!

now it just needs some form of apocalyptic Disney logo

I dont really like the official cover. It's not just floating heads, but it's ONE floating head above the title, and it just so happens that the head of the most marketed character is most prominently featured.

Nooo. Beast's face looks too weird there. He looks a little bit TOO interested in Belle hahaha

Seriously though, Beast's eyes are too big on the DVD cover. He's off model. Why can't they get Glen Keane to do the cover?!

enigma, did you retouch that cover (the Blu Diamond one)? Because it's different from the other ones I've seen. It looks even better.

Although, I'm thinking both covers are in for some revisions. Their logos are different (which I don't think Disney has every used different logos for the same movie, regardless of the medium), and the DVD doesn't have the DMR and Disney DVD logos.

Looks a lot better than this one:

The first one has a better title box. The logo is correct and the background isn't so plain. I just wish the "And The" wasn't capitalized and in that font, then it would be perfect.

In my opinion, that cover is a thousand times worse than the blu-ray artwork, and a kajillionbillion times worse than the original DVD PE release.
I agree 100%! It looks worse than Belle's Magical World art cover lol.

I don't know, I kind of like it, to be honest.... But you are right, Gaston does look likie Christopher Reeve.

I'm still probably going to get the original PE from Amazon, though. I have a bad feeling that it's going to be a rip-off like the SW DVD last year.
