That's great I wonder if it's going to be another cheapsequel.
I really liked the first one.
Emperor's New Groove Return of the Llama!!!

I guess Diseny doesn't know how to stop making cheapsequels.
I will buy this one if I like the previews.

Maybe it will be good? I know we've all have had this discussion a million times at this point... but Lion King 1.5 wasn't bad and Emperor's New Groove is the type of film that they could make a sequel to. Same characters, new situation, who knows? It may be the only way you're gonna see any 2-D animation out of them.

I heard that it was also linked to a television series like Sitch! The Movie was and how Atlanits: Milo's Return was supposed to be. I don't think we should bash it as a cheapquel yet. There is still a possible story to continue.

How is Kuzco dealing with life as a peasant? Will Yzma remain forever a cat? How is the kingdom dealing with the king who lives two days away from the kingdom? Still reason for a sequel...

That's what I heard! Now I remember, I read a story on it (try to find the link).

Hey Kram, instead of kramming that info so small, why not just type it in White. Just a suggestion.

That's great! The Emperor's New Groove is one of my favorite movies so I'm looking forward to it. On the other hand it's probably not as good as the first one. Sequals usually aren't. I've noticed that the drawing is usually not as good as in the first one. I hope they won't do anything horrible to Kronk.

I just hope that David Spade and Patrick Warburton are back for this iteration.

Kronk has to be one of the best comic characters Disney have had for sometime.

Well Glen Pat Warburton is back as Kronk and Yzma is still Eartha Kitt, so we just have to wait for Kuzco and Pacha.

Look, lots of good films have sequels a few years later. ENG is a fairly recent film, and if the same people are going to work on it, I say why not have a sequel? I think it has some potential and actually look forward to it. The problem is when they go back 40 years and grab one of the early films and churn out dtv compilation films.

But, since traditional animation has been more or less ruled out for feature animation, I think it's safe to assume that this will be (a) a Disney TV production or (b) 3D/CGI animation.

As to whether it will have a theatrical run, I'm not sure what to think on that.

I doubt it would be a theatrical run. Most of the Disney sequels aren't.

Except for Return to Neverland and Jungle Book 2. And reportedly Lilo & Stitch 2 (the proper sequel).

And the DTV department has also released Piglet's Big Movie, Tigger Movie, Teacher's Pet, etc out.

Other sequels include Toy Story 2 and the Rescuers Down Under.

Sorry, I am now officially Mr. Picky - the Pickiest Person in All of Picksburg.

As for TENG 2, I look forward to it. It was one of the recent Disney comedies I have enjoyed, as it was the first in a while not to take itself too seriously (unlike Muland & Pocahontas). Provided that the sequel maintains the same sense of humour, then I have no doubt it will be great.

I am looking forward to it. I really liked the first one! I think it should at least be enjoyable, especially if/when Spade comes back for his character. Oh my gosh, I am looking forward to more David Spade? Yikes.

I do, however, think that the DTV animators deserve their day in the cinema, as they put in just as much work on a fraction of the budget. I think it is only fitting that they be screened theatrically if the work is good (Return to Neverland was quite groovy, and I think the last couple of major sequels have looked theatrical quality).

Desite that, I do think they serve their purpose best in the DTV market, to not only financially supplement the theatrical profits, but to appeal to a different sector of the DVD buying public as well.
