bondage in Disney movies
Sorry if this has been discussed before, but I didn't see anything on it.
I recently came across this site:
http://www.kennetti.fi/sw_scariestmain.html
and it's interesting how so many (male) characters in Disney movies end up in chains or tied up XD
I know there's a lot of ways to look at it...I never thought of it being that disturbing, but then again I guess there are a lot of disturbing things in the animated movies if you look hard enough.

Huh.... interesting... Maybe it's subliminally suggesting that everyone go out and get themselves some BDSM gear...
But in all seriousness, I sort of wish that the captured prince sequence had been included in SW. I mean, come on! It would have provided at least a little bit of a possiblity at giving the guy some sort of personality. That, and the scrapped hunting sequence in Cinderella. Both of those scenes would have prevented the whole "prince interchangable" label.

Oh, great... Now every time I watch a Disney movie, I'm going to be thinking about the animators' obsession with bondage.polish_princess wrote:Sorry if this has been discussed before, but I didn't see anything on it.

Seriously though, speaking of bizarre obsessions - did anyone here count how many references there are to butts in Pinocchio? It's unbelievable!

But it distracts from the main plot in SW. The film is not about the prince; it's about Snow White's relationship with the dwarves. The prince is just a plot-device and that's all he should be for the film to work perfectly.Margos wrote:But in all seriousness, I sort of wish that the captured prince sequence had been included in SW. I've never heard of there having been planned a hunting sequence in Cinderella though. I think that would've been interesting to see, but, yes, unnecessary.
For some reason, I've always liked the way the Prince and Charming were designed, so I would've liked to see more scenes of them just for that.

Listening to most often lately:
Taylor Swift ~ ~ "The Fate of Ophelia"
Taylor Swift ~ "Eldest Daughter"
Taylor Swift ~ "CANCELLED!"

I know, but still... You spend the whole movie getting to know this girl, and liking her, and then in the end, you realize that she's just met and fallen in love with a guy with no personality. Same thing with Cindy. WTF? I wanted so much better for these girls. It would have been better if we had been given scenes proving that they did not end up with total zeroes.Goliath wrote:But it distracts from the main plot in SW. Wait what? I never owned the Cinderella dvd so I have no clue what this hunting sequence is. What was in this deleted sequence?Disney's Divinity wrote:I've never heard of there having been planned a hunting sequence in Cinderella though. I guess one one way they could have done it was to simply introduce the prince from Cinderella in the first scene with the duke and the king. I don't know about Snow White's prince.Margos wrote:I know, but still... The prince was hunting a deer. They both jumped over the castle wall, and when the prince caught the deer, they were revealed to be friends. You can find it in the "Cinderella That Never Was" feature on the DVD.Super Aurora wrote:Wait what? I never owned the Cinderella dvd so I have no clue what this hunting sequence is. It wasn't a deer it was a fox! I like that scene because it shows the Prince is like Cinderella, kind with animal friends.

- Where's that Bondage Strip Robot Toy: Mr: Lightyear needs more tape
Edit....I thought he said Bondage strip and honestly I thought that was just another term for scotch tape.....my Asperger Syndrome working at large there...with miscommunications

Woody: Listen, Lightsnack, you stay away from Andy. He's mine, and no one is taking him away from me.
Buzz: What are you talking about? Where's that bonding strip?

Well, if I look around me... I find it to be very true to real life. I see attractive girls dating guys with no personality all the time....
