I don't know if they ever actually ever did this, but I thought wouldn't it be cool if they would do something like have actors who did voices from the Disney movies go on appearances at the stores. You could meet them at your local store and get them to sign your DVDs or whatever... it would be a good promotion for the stores and it would help us get our movies signed. They could even sell artwork there of the characters, you could buy a pic of their character and get it signed. Maybe someone at Disney will read this and use the idea?
(Please, someone at Disney read this and do it! Thanks!)

Hey, that'd be cool! I'd love it if they announced themselves. I can picture Ernie Sabella: "Hi kids, it's Pumbaa over here at Suncoast, signing your new Lion King 1 1/2 DVDs over at Suncoast!!!" Actually, you know what . . . never mind. That's kind of sad, actually.

Weeee!! Yes! I'd love it if they did something like that. I'm a bit of a "voice-chaser," and I like trying to figure out a character's voice actor, since there's about a dozen "stock VAs" out there who'll do just about anything for any project. The Diz voices (especially the classic characters) are mostly unique, though - and it'd be great to meet them in person.
Man, if only Disney did promote their real stars - the animators and stock VAs. That'd be hella cool.

Life often leaves us standing bare, naked and dejected with a lost opportunity. Over the bleached bones and jumbled residues of numerous civilizations are written the pathetic words: "Too late."

Yes! that is a wonderful idea!!!
I would like to meet the actors or actress who do the voices of the Disney characters.
I wonder why Disney never thought of this idea.
I would like to have their autograph!!!!

Totally infeasible(he says with promoters hat on)
One you would never get enough coverage because it would only be one market at a time.
Two, way too expensive. Disney uses high priced actors who would have to be compensated at a high rate to do this.
Third, I have promoted stuff like this in the past. The reality is people who have become stars for the most part have huge egos and do not enjoy hanging around ordinary people. Sorry, but its the truth.

Darn. I would have liked that. It was such a good idea, too. Too bad it wouldn't be like a world tour like bands do or whatever.JimmyJackJunior wrote:Totally infeasible(he says with promoters hat on)

The big difference is that world tours for big bands charge you $ 100 and up to perform.
No one or not enough people are going to spend big dollars for an autograph.
They also entertain everyone at once, whereas for autography signing it is one at a time and takes for more of their time.

I go to autograph shows all the time, granted most of the actors want $20 to sign stuff, but you can still find some who will do it for $5 or $10 or *gasp* even for free. Some actors DO have big egos, but most of the ones I met were more than friendly and seemed to really enjoy hanging out with regular people.JimmyJackJunior wrote:Totally infeasible(he says with promoters hat on)

They get actors at WDW to appear and sign autographs, in fact I plan on going there in a couple of weeks to see some folks. Last year they had Julie Andrews there signing, among others.
Also, they wouldn't have to get the biggest name, high priced actors. Even some of the 'sidekick' characters would be cool to meet. They could sell special lithographs at the event of the characters that you could get signed, which would bring in money.
