RIP Eddie Carroll, voice of Jiminy Cricket
Just received news Tuesday morning that Eddie Carroll has passed away. He's been the voice of Jiminy Cricket since 1973:

Very sad news. Growing up, he was actually Jiminy Cricket to me more than Cliff Edwards was. I was first exposed to the character via Mickey's Christmas Carol back when I was 2 along with various Disney specials and Sing-Alongs. I didn't actually see Pinocchio until I was about 6. He will be missed.

Those of you who attended D23, if you have any photos from the event of Eddie Carroll, please send me a PM. I'm going to assist jackbenny.org with their tribute as part of the one I'm doing for my blog. So any photos and stories of your meeting w/Eddie would be greatly appreciated.
I also updated my blog article w/ details on the funeral and where to send donations:

Very sorry to hear this news. I adore Jiminy, and grew up with Mickey's Christmas Carol too, along with hearing Eddie's Jiminy everywhere else over the years. I can't help wondering though, how does one get the gig of taking over when we lose these legendary voices, especially since I recently realized I do a pretty good Jiminy myself.
