Not that it has anything on Pixar though hahaha... but I have to beg to differ with YOU now. Because I don't think I know one person that is embarrassed to say they enjoy Pixar movies. That explains the fact that Pixar movies make more moolah than most other movies released to theaters.

Seriously, though. That's a crying shame. Having grown up watching that movie, literally, hundreds of times... I just can't even wrap my head around someone NOT having seen it at all. I've met some like him, and I just don't even know what to say in response. Flabbergasted is definitely the best word to describe how that makes me feel.
And yet, I think it goes right back to Disney with their vaulting policy. It closes the market. They have to be losing more money than they're earning with the vault crap... You can make a new Platinum or Diamond an event, and it will sell tons. If you keep it out, it will continue to sell, and guess what! New generations will be exposed to the film! Because they don't have the films, so many people associate Disney with the Princess line because that they have an abundance of.ajmrowland wrote:![]()
Something else I should mention- Earlier this year, my Drama club got together to watch BATB. Before the movie started, the Drama teachers asked how many people hadn't seen the film. Half the room raised their hands, all younger kids, too, the majority of them- boys.

FAIL. You are henceforth banished from this board forever. Okay, seriously. Please, go watch it right now. If you have it on DVD, there is no reason to not watch it. How can you call yourself a hardcore Disney fan if you haven't seen the one movie that so many people say is their BEST? (Yes, I understand not everyone thinks that, don't attack me BatB haters)
It was the same as the DVD teaser trailer, with no title at the end of the commercial. I know, I was suprised to see it in theatres as well !! But very much glad of itJulian Carter wrote:Atlantica, you're from the UK. Tell me, what title showed up in the trailer? Disney's Rapunzel, or Tangled, Teaser Trailer
Rapunzel: You have to promise not to tell anyone.
Flynn Rider: You've...never...left...the tower.
Madame Gothel: Go outside?
A place hidden from the world.
Flynn Rider: LET DOWN YOUR HAIR!
Rapunzel: Once it's cut, it loses its power. The gift like that has to be
protected.
A force unlike any other.
Rapunzel: I've been looking out the window for 18 years, dreaming...
In theaters this Fall, the secret will be revealed.
Please note: in other nations besides the United States, it's called,
"Rapunzel," not "Tangled."

I'm guessing that the film will be released as 'Tangled' in Canada as well?Polizzi wrote:Please note: in other nations besides the United States, it's called, "Rapunzel," not "Tangled."
Re: Disney's Rapunzel, or Tangled, Teaser Trailer
Really, I didn't know. You see, I found this site, that I wish I know what it is called, and it told me that some nations call it, "Rapunzel," including France who call it, "Princess Rapunzel." However, I was never told about Canada's title for, "Rapunzel," or, "Tangled." By the way, on Facebook, there is this comment, under Disney's, "Tangled," materials, that has highlighted the site of the, "Rapunzel," trailer that bears the name, "Rapunzel" (it is a foreign language trailer based on the trailer made from WDAS (Walt Disney Animation Studios) in the United States). I find it really cool, even though the U.S. version doesn't bear the name, "Rapunzel." But who knows, what if WDAS decided to change the name back to, "Rapunzel," even though changing the name from, "Rapunzel," to, "Tangled," is official? Because on the U.S. trailer of Disney's, "Rapunzel," or, "Tangled," it doesn't reveal the name, but gives an idea what their next animated movie is going to be. After all, it is their next animated movie, they can do whatever they want, even postpone the release perhaps. For example, Disney's, "The Princess and the Frog," postponed the release due to, "Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakel," release. Anyways, sorry for getting into the different subject, I just could not stand the name, "Tangled," because I find it disrespectful to the Grimm Brothers and Walt Disney. Because Walt Disney would never change names on fairy tales when adapting them into animated movies. He sticks to the names, and arranges stories to make them more interesting than typical to go with names, instead of trying to find out what people like than making himself comfortable about stories to fit for names.Scarred4life wrote:I'm guessing that the film will be released as 'Tangled' in Canada as well?Polizzi wrote:Please note: in other nations besides the United States, it's called, "Rapunzel," not "Tangled."

Disney's Strangled (A Mockery Trailer for Disney's Tangled)
Announcer: From Walt Disney Pictures, comes a story about a princess, who grows a very long golden hair and lives in her tower for 18 years, after she was captured by a wicked witch. She soon discovers that her hair can move, and decided to use her hair for a very special purpose...revenge.
Man 1: Hey sis, where you going?
Woman 1: To that tower just right next to the river. What do you think lives in that tower.
Man 1: I don't know, maybe a monster or something. Come on, let's go home.
Woman 1: Wait a minute, I know the words that I have heard from that witch, Madame Gothel. I saw her at the tower once who spoke the words to have someone in the tower to lend out some kind of force, to let her in.
Woman 1: Rapunzel, Rapunzel, let down your hair.
Man 1: How would I know that someone in the tower would lend some kind of force to let you in.
(Rapunzel's hair comes down from the tower.)
Woman 1: Look bro, it's a hair. A very long golden hair.
(Rapunzel's hair tangles the woman's neck.)
Woman 1: (Screaming)
Man 1: Oh my God! What are you doing to my sister? Let her go!
(Rapunzel's hair lets the woman go, and the woman dies at the ground.)
Man 1: Oh my God, my sister is dead! Rapunzel, you sick twisted, stuck up bi...
(Rapunzel's hair tangles the man's neck.)
Man 1: (Screaming)
(Rapunzel's hair lets the man go, and the man dies on top of the woman.)
(Rapunzel came down from her tower with her own hair, and lands safely on the ground.)
Rapunzel: At last, after 18 years of torture in the tower, I am free. And now, first things first...revenge.
Announcer: Walt Disney Pictures, "Strangled."
(Rapunzel having sex with Flynn Rider.)
Rapunzel: Oh Flynn, oh yes! Yes, yes, YES!
Flynn Rider: Oh Rapunzel, oh yes! Yeah baby, YEAH!
(Rapunzel and Flynn Rider resting on the bed.)
Rapunzel: My God, Flynn. I have never met a man who can do it like that.
Flynn Rider: I know. I've done that many times on every women as I pass by, stealing possessions. And I never wear a condom.
Rapunzel: Oh really?
(Rapunzel's hair uncovers the blanket.)
Flynn Rider: Hey, what are you doing.
(Rapunzel's right side of her hair hold's Flynn's dingy, while her left side of her hair forms into a sword."
Flynn Rider: What are doing to my dingy. No...wait...stop...
(Rapunzel's chops off Flynn's dingy.)
Flynn Rider: (Screaming)
Man 2: We found Flynn Rider, but he's pronounced dead.
Man 3: How can that be, we were so close to capture him for reward.
Man 2: Well, somebody, or someone, beat us too it. I guess we can kiss the reward goodbye.
Man 3: Shhh, what was that? Something is making a noise, I think it's coming from the ceiling.
(Rapunzel's hair tangles the man's neck.)
Man 3: (Screaming)
Man 2: Oh my God! It's a hair, a very long golden hair!
(Rapunzel's hair lets the man go, and he lies on the floor dead.)
Man 2: Holy shi...
(Rapunzel's hair tangles another man's neck.)
Man 2: (Screaming)
Announcer: A dark force unlike any other. It is so dark that it makes the boys want to pee in their pants, and the girls want to scream in horror and cry.
Woman 2: That Rapunzel killed my husband and my sister with her hair like a noose.
Man 4: That Rapunzel attacked my children by throwing them off the cliff with her own hair like a slingshot.
Woman 3: Who's going to stop this madness?
Announcer: Only one witch can defeat this monstrosity, for she knew her weakness.
Madame Gothel: I shall go after Rapunzel, and cut off her hair with my scissor of doom. After that, I shall kill her.
(The people in the kingdom begin to cheer for Madame Gothel.)
Announcer: Will the brave witch destroy this monstrosity, who uses her hair for the forces of evil, or watch people suffer from her hair? Find out when it comes to theaters this Fall.
(Rapunzel falling from the tower, after her hair cut off.)
Rapunzel: (Screaming) (Courtesy to the scene where Mrs. Baylock throws Katherine Thorn out the window from the hospital from the hit Antichrist movie made in 1976, "The Omen.")
(Rapunzel falls to the ground, and dies.)
Announcer: Walt Disney Pictures, "Strangled," rated, "R." Some scenes may not be suitable for children under 18. View discretion is advised.
Announcer: Stay tuned for another sequel, for the witch did not know that the strangler gave birth to her twins, or should I say, "Tangled Twins."
Tangled Twins: Come climb on my hair, and play with us. Forever, and ever, and ever.
Announcer: Walt Disney Pictures, "Strangled II: The Tangled Twins," coming to theaters after the 2012 apocalypse (if there is one or not, hopefully not).
Jeff Polizzi's Comment: I want to apologize to Disney fans, and Walt Disney Animation Studios, for making this dreadful mockery trailer against Disney's Tangled. This is my idea to cheer myself up due to Disney's title change that frustrated me. As a result, I decided to tease Disney's Tangled in public, for making a title change that sounds misleading, and disrespectful to the Grimm Brothers, and Walt Disney. Some of you would probably consider me as a monster, a jerk, a 'b' word if you know what I mean, or other if you dislike this idea that I have developed against Disney's Tangled. This is my answer, "Well, if it weren't for Disney's title change from, "Rapunzel," to, "Tangled," I would not have teased Disney's Tangled, but I did anyways. I bet Seth MacFarlane, the creator of, "Family Guy," "American Dad," and "The Cleveland Show," would probably ask me if he could adapt my idea into a, "Family Guy," episode...maybe." Anyways, now you know why I have created my mockery trailer against Disney's Tangled. And besides, it rhymes. This mockery trailer will be dedicated to Floyd Norman, the retired Disney and Pixar animator, who protested Disney's title change and created his fairy tale poster joke, "Rapunzel Salvation: Not a Princess Movie," and Seth MacFarlane, master of cartoon comedy for adults and the next Mel Blanc.

I replied to the disney animation twitter account asking them if they were going to release any Tangled stuff soon after posting more toy story or whatever artwork and they responded with the following:
Hang in there-- shouldn't be too much longer. We're hard at work!
Well... HURRY UP ALREADY! It's time we saw some of those darn characters, finalised designs and all! BRING IT, I'm going CRAZY here!

I just wanted to get my opinion in on this whole title change thing.
First off, I don't mind the title much at all. Tangled doesn't exactly sound like the most Disney-like title but as long as the script hasn't changed I don't see how it is a problem. I will say, however, that The Princess and the Frog underperforming has taken a toll on Disney. I will side with Disney in that the advertising of the movie did side a bit too much to females. But when I saw the movie in theaters to my surprise, the little kids in the theater did seem to enjoy the movie but didn't react much to it. It was the parents, mostly the dads, who were really enjoying it and laughing at all the jokes. Disney really could have used a male-sided ad campaign for this movie. With this movie in particular, I can understand that might be a problem but in a world where a high school senior English class can delight in The Princess Bride like at my school, advertising the humorous elements of PatF (which seemed really downplayed in ads) could have helped a ton. And opening it a week before Avatar was a bit of a dumb move. I can understand the attempted counterprogramming but Disney really should have planned things a bit better. Maybe if The Princess and the Frog opened the first weekend in November, A Christmas Carol took Thanksgiving weekend and Old Dogs had the December 11 slot, things could have worked a bit better.
All in all, I respect the title change for Rapunzel and while I'm still trying to get used to calling it Tangled, I know it'll be a fantastic film and hopefully one of the best animated movies of 2010.
