Disney/Pixar Theme Park

Post by JenW.UCF »

Hello everyone!

I know there have been posts around the forums about this possibility, but I needed to write one of my own. I'm currently taking an entertainment marketing class at the University if Central Florida and we needed to create our own idea for a product that we would bring to market. My group and I chose to do a Disney/Pixar theme park.

I would really appreciate it if you could tell me what you would like to see in a Disney/Pixar Theme Park. Specific rides or areas. Also, what would get you excited about the new park? Would would you like to see in a commercial, billboard, or any other advertisement you can think of.

Any suggestions you have to offer would be a tremendous help. As we start writing the paper, I'll make sure to reply to this post with news of the actual park and advertisements we've created to see what you think.

I really appreciate anything you have to contribute in advance.

Hmm.... Maybe there could be a To Inifinity...And Beyond! roller coaster that recreates that awesome moment near the end. So it would start out with a super boost speed going at about 65 mph  (like Rock N' Roller Coaster), which is the rocket going off, and go up into the air. Then. you could zoom about in the air for a while, and eventually plummet back into Andy's car. It could last for around a minute or two, and you'd have to be at least 48" tall.

Would this Disney/Pixar theme park be its own separate entity (like Disneyland, Walt Disney World, etc.) or be a part of an existing theme park (like Magic Kingdom, Epcot, etc.)?

I think the proposed Monsters, Inc. roller coaster would be a great fit. A Ratatouille restaurant could be fun. a bug's land from California Adventure (or a tweaked version) could work. Maybe they could have a Shorts section, with attractions and theming for some of the Pixar shorts! Like, have a little park area with chess boards, and they could have statues of Geri from "Geri's Game". Carsland (like what they're building at California Adventure) would make sense. How about an attraction based around flying for The Incredibles? In the spiel, they could (in Edna's voice, in a voice-over) mention that you should take off all capes! Maybe a ride like Soarin' but Up-themed?

Great ideas, Amy! But wasn't I talking about Toy Story?
The Ratatouille restaurant would be great. Maybe they could have Gusteau's in one area, and La Ratatouille Bistro in the other. And the Up/Soarin' thing? Wow. I remember my favorite part of that was smelling the oranges.

The theme park would be it's own identiy like Magic Kingdom, Epcot, etc. We want to give it the feel of Islands of Adventure but with a Disney twist. When most people think about Disney they thing just for kids but we want to have an adult fun theme park as well. Some ideas suggested to us was a Cars rollercoaster. The ideas from you guys seem great too. I must admit I didn't think about a Ratatouille restaurant. :D
